Patients ask us all the time about "cryo chambers" that put the freeze on ya. But do they actually do anything? Here's a short read from Men's Journal about them. Not a whole lot of evidence, but what to do when patients swear by them? This very well is likely one of those treatments that "I think it works, so it does." http://ow.ly/m9TH30jS4H0

Small business is tough! We have to do the "little things" that many of the hospitals don't have to and we don't have an in-house referral source to get our patients. Well, also keep in mind when choosing PT that it's waaaayyyy more expensive to get PT at a hospital-based location, sometimes 3X AS MUCH. Make sure you check your benefits before choosing your PT provider. We promise, we'll treat you right here and it won't cost ya as much. Give us a call!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, but just a friendly reminder - SSOR is now in-network with Cigna. Cigna joins our list of other in-network insurances - Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Humana, United Health Care, and Medicare.

FINALLY, the weather is warming up and the roadways are filling up with eager runners to get outside. It's imperative that runners have strong hips to stay away from people like us. Check out our YouTube clip of 5 easy exercises you should do. We like these because the EMG studies show they actually target the muscles they intend to target and you can do them anywhere. Sure, there's lots more, but these will get you started. Need more advanced ones? Give us a call! http://ow.ly/J29I30jL4NF

This!! Folks, we can help ya fast. Not sure it's so easy to say just take anti-inflammatories and keep moving. If you've ever really injured your back, you know that sounds great, but actually doing it is another thing! People are often fearful and don't know what to do. Don't wait, give us a call! http://ow.ly/6qU730jMk9a

Sporting KC's goal scoring machine Felipe Gutierrez had sports hernia surgery on Tuesday. We've seen that here at SSOR in some very elite athletes and some "average Joe's." Learn about it here. http://ow.ly/bHIN30jNBdS

"We know SSOR, we know...exercise rocks, we get it!!" We try not to bore you with research too often, but can't help ourselves here. Check out this paper. Over 260,000 total subjects. Exercise CAN help depression for pretty much anyone, anywhere, anytime. You don't have to go crazy - a long walk can suffice. We gotta do something people. It saddens us that so many of our patients mark depression as a co-morbidity. Exercise is a piece of that puzzle! http://ow.ly/8tI130jL41L

We have an active bunch here at SSOR. People wear out those tires and sometimes need total joint replacements. Total hip replacement is something we see regularly around here. Learn more about it here. http://ow.ly/D7wZ30jEO8c
