Supercars are a rare breed. They have the ability to turn the heads of the most jaded of automotive enthusiasts and seemingly defy the laws of physics. The Audi R8 certainly accomplishes both, but it distinguishes itself from some past and present supercars by providing excellent performance without the sacrifices that other ultrahigh-performance cars require.

First and foremost, the R8 is pretty easy to drive. Aided by precise steering, good outward visibility and comfortable seats, the R8 is a supercar you could drive every day if you wanted. It also comes with all-wheel drive, giving it an advantage in terms of traction. As with every Audi, the R8 has a cabin finely crafted from top-notch materials. The seats are comfortable for long-distance travel and the driving position suits a wide range of people.

The Audi R8 V10 blends explosive performance and an exotic presence. With the quick-shifting, six-speed transmission and quattro® all-wheel drive deliver power to the road. This is performance engineered to its fullest. The Audi R8 gets its captivating shape from Le Mans-winning racecars. The aggressive stance, pronounced air intakes, and aerodynamic styling exude performance.

Do not drive the Lamborghini Gallardo! This was my second experience in Exotics Racing, the first time I drove a Nissan GTR, and it was amazing. So last week I booked a Lamborghini Gallardo. Staff is very nice and experienced, but once I was in the Lambo, and ready to go, my instructor told me 2 things: first, the Gallardo brakes are different from any other car, it brakes a bit slow, unless you brake hard, and it brakes very hard. No problem, just would get a few turns to adjust. Then, problem number 2, and a big problem, after a few laps, I have to drive one lap REALLY SLOW, in 6th. Gear, at 40 mph, so the engine and brakes can cool. First of all, they count that lap as one of the 9 I paid for, really unfair, they insisted during the Technical briefing, that we were able to drive as fast as we wanted to, as long as it was safe. And second, they insisted that the way to go is to build up on every lap, so we can drive faster and faster, and this slow lap ruined the whole experience. At the 4th. lap I was doing time laps of a little under a minute, which was great, but then, after doing the slow lap, all the improvement I made was lost, I had to start all over, and never got my rhythm again. I realized all this after watching the video, so I wasn´t able to talk with anyone. I really hope this helps, it's an expensive experience, and I am disappointed with it, because of this problem.

WOW. These guys absolutely rock. I have tried many driving experiences over the years but this was THE BEST. The guys really let you put your foot down and explore the absolute limits of the car. They have no problem with you spinning up the tires and burning a bit of rubber as long as you stay in control of the car. The driving instructor actively pushes you to keep going faster. I can't wait until I get the chance to come again.

Hands down the most fun I've had behind a wheel. Don't think the instructor sitting next to you is just there to babysit you and nanny you through the 1.2 mile course. That would be a waste. As long as you're familiar with paddle shifters and have some sense of car control, the instructor is there to push you (and the car) in the very first lap! Within the 5-lap package, the first lap is your holy-cow moment and the last 4 laps are basically trying to cut your lap time. Every step prior to the drive (as well as after) was informative, friendly, honest, and fun. I initially thought it was pricey (even for the bottom $199 Porsche Cayman), but if you look back at what just happened, all the people involved, the upkeep of the cars (we're talking a set of tires that may be more expensive than my weekly SUV rental from Hertz), the facility (clean, cool, and spacious), it's actually very reasonable. This would obviously make a great gift for the gearhead in the family, but I think anyone who's been driving for a while will appreciate the opportunity to just sit inside all the supercars, let alone drive them towards their limits. Pro-tip: Listen to your instructors like your life depends on it (it somewhat does anyway). Also, take time to fully adjust your seats and climate controls, because there is no opportunity to do so once you're driving. Disclosure: I drove the 911 turbo (58 seconds)and my non-gearhead wife drove the Audi R8 (1 min, 05 seconds).

Great folks. They treated us like friends and helped me safely drive fast. No way to go fast or smooth without their expert in-car advice. When I tried a lap on my own, I quickly missed the braking points, apex and throttle points, getting sideways and much slower. Thanks! Great fun.

Fun staff, knowledgeable instructors, well-maintained cars and track and an overall great time if you have reasonable expectations and a fairly deep wallet. If you want to have the opportunity to drive a super-car on a closed road course, learn a little and ensure that you are going to be safe, this is a great way to go as long as you can afford the price to play. If you are used to going to 'track days' or run SCCA races and having free reign, if you don't like to listen or take direction, or you already own a super-car, then you probably aren't going to have a great time. If you are a 'car guy/gal', speed freak and dream of having a super-car, are willing to listen, take instruction, and understand that your time in the car will fly by, you will have a blast. Like any place that takes your money, this is a business. They are there to provide an excellent customer experience. They are also there to make money. They can't do that unless their nearly $200K cars are well-running and in one piece. They also can't do that if people are stupid and injure themselves (think insurance and bad reviews). I had the opportunity to drive three different cars, with three different instructors. The cars (McLaren, Porsche and Lamborghini) were all as different as the instructors. None were bad. They were all fun. They were all different. The thing that was consistent was the non-stop instruction and that they will push you to get better and go faster as long as you are listening and acting accordingly. I was able to get the McLaren up to over 125 on the straight, and the average of my best lap in each cars was under the 60 second mark. I only wish I had more than 5 laps per car and that it was more affordable for the average gear-head. Your laps will be over before you know it. I understand the reason for the price: the cars are expensive, they have a lot of quality staff, a well-maintained facility and I can only imagine their insurance premiums. Looking at it from this perspective, it is reasonable.
