When travelling to Maine, one simply must make it to the coast for some lobster. Jesper's is a great place to accomplish this bucket list item. I started off with the coconut shrimps. The texture and the sauce were spot-on: crispy and tangy. I could have happily eaten another plate. For my entree, I went with the lobster special. I did not have long to wait after finishing the shrimp before my lobster arrived. It was fresh and perfect, just as one would expect while enjoying lobster in Maine. It was served alongside a good portion of butter, french fries, and coleslaw. Everything tasted great! All in all, five stars easy.

I wish I didn't have to give any stars just to write a review of this so-called restaurant. DO NOT EAT HERE! Please save yourself. Go to Jordans. We ordered the Seafood Chowder and also got Some Scallops with a side of Baked Potato and I also had a nice rubbery lobster as well. All in all it was the absolute worst cooked seafood we have ever had. The Chowder was CURDLED and COLD. My 8 yr old daughter had a mouthful before she got sick. It stank up my house for a day. The chef needs to go back to McDonald's where he/she belongs! I can't cook well, but I know that the first thing you do is REMOVE the MUSCLE on the side of the scallop before cooking. This amateur didn't even do that. This was on more than one occasion by the way - not just a fluke. We were charged $26 for the scallops. In the menu it says $24. Of course I mentioned this discrepancy and was promptly made to feel guilty for bringing this up, because it clearly states (at the bottom of the today's specials sheet) that there is a $2 surcharge on scallops and a couple other things that I should have seen. Guess what, there are no scallops listed in the specials so why the hell would I have read that disclaimer? And how old were the baked potatoes? Morgan the Manager says they were cooked that day but I doubt that. They were all hard and grey and absolutely tasteless!. All three of us just threw them away! The calamari wasn't seasoned at all either. Oh, and the lobster was overcooked and rubbery as hell. We will never ever go to this "restaurant" again. I beg you to try any other place. Jasper's Restaurant should be shut down. And how is it that with only 25 reviews, 8 of which I can see are 1 star ratings because the people HATED it, that the review summary is showing 1 star ratings as the least number? Does that make any sense to anyone? 1/3 of the people who review this restaurant HATE IT.

Absolutely love Jaspers! We were a bit skeptical because of some of these reviews, but after visiting for ourselves it's clear to see that some of these people are just being ridiculous. My wife's fish burger was "the best she'd ever eaten", and my steak was cooked to perfection! Definitely will be returning!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very clean and comfortable. Good food too, especially their seafoods. Captain's platter is highly recommended.

WTH happen to Jaspers!?!? This was the worst dining experience ever! The seafood was overpriced for the amount that was on my plate. The waiter was not helpful at all and could have cared less about helping us customize our meal. It took forever to get our food even though the place was dead. My wife ordered spring rolls and they were full of oil, all dough and hardly any veggies. My seafood was dripping in grease...the coating was sliding off before I even touched it. YUCK! I see now why there was no one in there. A waste of time, money and left us feeling ripped off and sour stomachs. Go to Governors across the street...not the Jaspers I remember : (
