Best breakfast sandwich in the city ever. Sometimes they run out of essential breakfast items (e.g. orange juice), and the line can be daunting, but the food quality and their prices can't be beat.

Joanne Chang is amazing. I really miss Flour, definitely a great place to just sit and relax and have a great breakfast/lunch. I never got a chance to try it for dinner, but I'm sure it's great as well. The staff is very accommodating and genuinely nice. Try their sticky buns!

I want to love Flour, and every time I come back, I'm disappointed. I work around the corner and was very excited when they opened this new location. I had only been to the South End Flour once, but had a pretty good experience. You can't fault the staff here for being unfriendly, it's just the service is incredibly slow. I'm not sure what it is, but it seems like once your order is in, it usually takes about 10-15 minutes for your sandwich to be made. I don't know if it's the small prep station, jam-packed with people, or what, but it's a major bottleneck. The food is good to great, and I'm partial to the curried tuna salad sandwich. My only complaint about the sandwiches is the sandpaper like bread they use. Without fail, after every Flour soundwich I eat, despite it being quite tasty, the roof of my mouth is absolutely shredded. I love the pop tart, I love most of the pastries, and their coffee is great. I will come back, occasionally, but maybe not during rush hour (although it always seems to be rush hour in there).

I had a wonderful cornmeal cookie with a lime cream filling. The selection was beautuful but I went at lunch time. It was so crowded I didn't takevas much time to look as I would otherwise. I asked for a chai latte but got a chai. No big deal. I would definitely go back and I reccomend it if you are in the neighborhood.

Judging from the other reviews I lucked out and only had to wait in line a few minutes but it was well worth the wait. I had the hummus sandwich and ran out the door to eat it in the cab on the way to the airport. I wish I'd had more time to stick around but the staff is extremely efficient and the food was really great.

I was told that the place is pricey and there is a long line Flour => Hour It lived upto both parts of the reputation - I paid ~$7 for two small slices of pizza, and had about 12 people ahead of me on the queue. Granted the pizza was good, but it was not baked while I waited (some Wholefoods bake pre-cooked pizzas while you wait). I liked the food, it tasted like real pizza from good ingredients - like it should.
