We had a glitch in YouTube and Hangout. We will be back online soon. Please leave us any questions in the stream. :)

Ask us about LISA Pathfinder. We will be available during the entire LISA Pathfinder launch event between 03:30 AM and 06:45 AM (GMT).

We will have...
- Michele Armano (LISA Pathfinder Operations Scientist) at the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESA/ESAC) in Madrid (Spain)
- Michael Tröbs (LISA Laser Interferometry Expert) at the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) in Hanover (Germany)
- Operators live from the LIGO gravitational wave detector control room (USA)
- Shawn Mitryk (LISA Metrology System Expert) at SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA (USA)
- Natalia Korsakova (LISA Pathfinder Gravity Gradient Expert) at the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany
- Guido Müller (Member of the Gravitational Observatory Advisory Team) at the University of Florida (USA)
- Felipe Guzmán (LISA Pathfinder Instrument Expert) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD (USA)
...and more on demand.

We are launching live from Guiana Space Center - live stream and hangout available. https://lisapathfinder.org
LISA Pathfinder, an ESA mission which contains an additional NASA payload, is designed to demonstrate the technologies necessary for future space-based gravitational wave detectors. Two test masses will be kept in near-perfect gravitational free-fall, and their position will be measured and controlled with unprecedented accuracy. This is achieved through the use of state-of-the-art technology comprising inertial sensors, a laser metrology system, a drag-free control system and an ultra-precise micro-propulsion system.

This is the last chance to join for tomorrows free Massive Open On-line Course: Gravity! From the Big Bang to Black Holes
(join now, starts 26 Oct, 2015)

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/gravity

The course's lead educator is the +LISA Mission researcher Pierre Binétruy, professor and director at the Paris Centre for Cosmological Physics (PCCP).
What is gravity? This fundamental force is the common theme between concepts as intriguing as the Big Bang, black holes, dark energy, space-time, gravitational waves and the expansion of the Universe.
If these concepts pique your interest, this free online course is for you. It doesn’t require any background in physics or mathematics, just a simple curiosity about the Universe and our place in it.

New Hubble find suggests eLISA will directly observe “engine” of quasars.

Hubble observations show that the nearest Quasar is powered by a binary black hole. “This evidence strongly suggests that the numbers of supermassive black hole mergers will be at least as large as astronomers have been estimating, and when eLISA observes them it may be investigating the ‘engine’ of many if not all quasars,” says Bernard Schutz, director emeritus at the Albert Einstein Institute.
