A little project I took on in the home lab.
I use my home lab to both learn about new technologies and to challenge my own biases on how things “should” be done. I have always used SATA drives to boot my ESXi hosts with and never gave it mu

Heathen blog update where I address the Chapel Hill murders and the atheist killer: "Atheism != Morality" http://www.sinisterforces.com/2015/02/atheism-morality-anti-theism/
The Chapel Hill shootings are a terrible tragedy. Three people were murdered, and it is possible that they were murdered for being Muslims. The man arrested for the murders is Craig Stephen Hicks and

Heathen blog update: A friend asked me to watch the film "God's Not Dead". I did. Still an atheist.
A friend challenged me to watch the film God’s Not Dead with the hope that I would be convinced by the film that atheism is wrong. I watched the film and found it very interesting, but not at all co

Troy - Thank you. I believe that being open to new evidence will never harm me. When people say "But if you just read the Bible..." I cringe. I have read it. More than once. At this point I see no reason to go over that old evidence again. But when someone says "Here is something new that might change your mind." I'm all for it.

And I am not against films (or music, or books, etc.) made for the purpose of promoting one's faith. I think that is a beautiful pursuit. I just have not encountered a work that would cause me to change my own beliefs.

I hope you and your family are all doing well!

Monica Lewinsky's talk on cyber bullying is impressive. Please watch and consider sharing. http://t.co/Y1cWamRNlK
In 1998, says Monica Lewinsky, “I was Patient Zero of losing a personal reputation on a global scale almost instantaneously.” Today, the kind of online public shaming she went through has become a constant. In a brave talk, she takes a look at our “culture of humiliation,” in which online shame equals dollar signs — and demands a different way.

Story
Introduction
I'm just a geek who loves technology and role playing games. I have a wonderful wife, two troublemaker kids, and in general a pretty normal but happy life.

I am also an atheist, embrace skepticism, try to be a scientist everyday regardless of my profession, and I believe that overall most people are good and sincere creatures that wish me no harm.

Call me crazy for that last one. :)

By the way, just because I am an atheist please do not add me to your circles if all you want to do is bash religion. Just because I am a liberal and tend to have progressive ideas please do not add me to your circles if you want to bash conservatives.

I want to communicate with people interested in solving problems, not who want to just point the finger at others. In fact, I'd rather talk to a conservative religious person who treats people with respect than an atheist liberal who talks down to others any day of the week.
