Love the chicken kabob plate. With the roasted tomato and onions. That garlic sauce is so good. My boyfriend and I fight over it all the time. They are pretty generous with it though. I go there whenever I don't know what to eat and it never disappoints.

This place has great service and food but I would suggest take out cause its loud and crowded inside. I love ordering their chickens but the meat is sometimes dry for my taste

I love their chicken shish kabob. The garlic sauce is on point as well. I would strongly suggest you go here because their food is quite amazing.

Very tender and juicy chicken. I love their warm pitas and garlic spread. Place is located in strip mall. Be prepared to try to find sitting.

It's just chicken. Right? But, some of the best chicken that I have ever tasted. I ordered a quarter chicken with Mutabbal (eggplant side) and a hummus side. And, of course that garlic butter which comes with it is absolutely sinfully good. The chicken had a perfectly crispy skin that was almost as good as the chicken meat. The chicken meat was moist, juicy and flavorful. High quality chicken that when you taste it makes you say....Wow! And, don't forget to spread the garlic butter side on the chicken which is absolutely garlicky and decadent. The mutabbal side dish is a smoky eggplant dish that reminded me of babaganoush. If you like babaganoush, you will like mutable even more. It was very good and great to dip pita bread. The hummus side dish was excellent too. Also, the pickled turnips that they provide you are a good, vinegary offset to the decadent, moist chicken. This is some killer chicken.

Seriously, I don't see why others like it so much. The rotisserie chicken is smallish and it is just dry and not much seasoning. If you grossly over cooking chicken, the meat will guarantee to fall off the bone. That goes with the variety of kabobs as well. Its only OK to me. The only good part of my Zankou experience was the garlic sauce/paste.

I am writing this while sick, unable to taste with a grating scratch inside of my throat. This is not a good idea. I try to write about food, but I have forgotten what flavor is. That isn't to say that the rating I am giving Zankou is based on that. No, this one was thought out before I even got sick. The reviews made this place seem promising, but it could not live up to that promise. We came in, surrounded by insane people, and ordered our food. I got the tri-tip wrap and my lovely almost wife got the chicken wrap. Both were close to $7.00. That is overpriced. I don't pretend to know about food costs for this business intimately, but mine was some steak in a piece of pita bread with chunks of tomato and garlic sauce. It was probably the least effort that could have gone into the wrap as could be humanly conceived. I don't even know if that sentence worked out gramatically, but I sure as hell am not going to go through the trouble to figure it out. The flavor was decent, at least on the steak. The garlic sauce was overly salty, and I say that having eaten plenty of this style of food that others complained were like a heaping bowl of salt. Save your money and go to Genie Den instead. Or better yet, get some pita bread from Trader Joe's, whip up some garlic sauce from an online recipe and grill your own tri-tip. I'm done here, can I have my check now?...oh right, I do this for free. Dammit.
