Using his determination and magic touch to consistently capture nature at its most raw ... and most beautiful ... Steve Russell shares his latest photo story that aptly depicts both of these aspects. Check it out on the blog! #insectphotography #Canon #naturephotography #dragonflies #photography #RMSP
Nature can be cruel. After living three years in the muck of a marsh and finally crawling out and miraculously exploding out of its larval exoskeleton in the course of an hour, the life of the brown-eyed dragonfly I had been photographing up close was cut short by the beak of a bird. From …

Steve Russell shares his passion, experience and amazing results doing so in his latest photo blog contribution. Check it out! #passionforphotography #uppingyourgame #SanDiego #photography #fortheloveofshooting
My second annual January trek to San Diego to shoot birds and wildlife gives me the perfect opportunity to share three reasons why I love doing this so much. The thrill of surprises. Cheers to +Caley Fox and +Shannon Hutchison, two of our Career Training Graduates, who came up with the idea to travel across Canada by bicycle rickshaw to create a "documentary about how Canadians identify with being from here, what it means to be from each province, and what drives people to be kind. It will also contain footage on the highs and lows of getting two massively heavy bikes across the country." They raised money for this adventure through Kickstarter to help fund this passionate idea of theirs. This was an amazing feat and a testament to believing that you can do anything (or almost which is pretty dang good!)

And the idea got started at RMSP! Thanks so much for all your support behind this, it took flight there!

We haven't had much of a winter thus far here in western Montana, but it might be perfect timing for this new blog post from +Doug Johnson for all you in the northeast!

Undisturbed, peaceful and beautifully white, winter is a season like no other. From the smallest ice crystal to the great expanse of a snow-covered field, winter’s cold is the visual architect for an endlessly evolving storyline. We're no strangers to night photography here at RMSP, but this series of images produced by +Vincent Laforet has our heads spinning. They were taken from a 7500 feet...above NYC.

According to LaForet:
"I have to admit that it was very odd to be looking at airplanes - big ones: jetliners - flying beneath you!"

"Very odd" is an understatement. Enjoy!
