The Bagladys' Christmas Hint and Tips

Now I'm sure that you’re thinking, why is she writing about Christmas? I mean, what is less joyful than vacuum cleaner bags, filters and floor tools?
Well, obviously, I think they are THE most exciting and interesting things. I do appreciate that you might not, however  you will have much more fun at Christmas, if you’re all organised first.

1)     Make sure you have plenty of bags! At Christmas and New Year, you generate SO much more mess. There are crumbs, Christmas tree needles and all manner of things that shouldn't be on the carpet. So be prepared!  Get that order of vacuum cleaner bags in, so that you don’t get caught out.

2)     Hoovering those bits of the carpet that don’t get seen.  You’re bound to be moving furniture around to fit in the tree, squeezing in an extra chair for Aunty and adding tables to put things on. Don’t forget, that you’re likely to be exposing bits of carpet that haven’t seen the light of day for a year. Give them a good vacuum, and make sure you use a brush attachment first to fluff the fibres.

3)     Crumbs in crevices!  They will always end up down the side of the sofa, where they might join a year’s accumulation. Just pop a crevice tool on your vacuum cleaner, and you’ll soon be clean and crumb free.

 4)     Water the Christmas Tree regularly. If you have a real tree, they will always shed needles. However you can reduce your vacuuming, but making sure that the tree has enough water. A happy tree drops less needles and you have to vacuum less often.

5) Happy Christmas! :-)

What, you say, does vacuuming have to do with Christmas planning?! Everything, I say! All those extra crumbs from mince pies and cakes, all those Christmas tree needles...you're going to be hoovering more than usual. So get those bags and filters ordered, so it's all nice and tidy when the rellies come round!
