This Dilbert captures my feeling about what there is to learn from most biographies of great business leaders.  There is tremendous luck involved.  For any successful CEO or founder, there are tens of thousands of people just like them who had a different outcome.

Nowhere is this more apparent than in "Steve Jobs", which describes personality type that normally ends in being an extremely frustrated designer unable to keep a job, but, in this one case, because of a lot of fortunate (and sometimes strange) outcomes at various key points, ended very differently.
