I'm a health and fitness journalist and author. This is Not Your Mother’s Menopause (Villard, 2000), was my journey through menopause hormone free. My follow-up was No Hormones, No Fear (Villard, 2003). I am a regular contributor for national magazines. My 2004 series in Salon on women, sex, aging, and fitness, won a wide web following. After a two-year stint as the “Health Watch” and “Cultural Chatter” columnist for Miami’s Ocean Drive magazine, I am a freelance wellness writer for The Miami Herald.
In addition to my health and fitness pieces, I've also written features from architectural controversies to profiles on everyone from eccentric Miami wine collectors, über editor Tina Brown, artist Romero Britto, business titans Jorge Perez, Miami's Condo King and boutique hoteliers Ian Schrager and Andre Balazs, and even politically charged interviews with outspoken pundits like Bill Maher.
Before journalism, I was in fashion and music for twenty years, and at different times, managed boutiques in London, Barcelona, and New York, created my own menswear collection, ran the art department for a Swedish recording label, and modeled. During much of that period I also researched and developed ten investigative non-fiction books with my husband, Gerald, a New York Times bestselling author (www.posner.com
In addition to my writing, I'm a mixed media artist, a career I launched in the mid-1970s in Ibiza. I recently exhibited in Miami. My latest phase is Pop Digital Art, the digital remastering of photographs and images into limited edition collections, using the highest quality commercial equipment, utilizing incredibly stable and vibrant inks, substrates, and matte coatings, to produce brilliantly colored fine art prints. Currently in a self-described “Neon Period,” my latest work highlights the vibrant colors of Miami Beach, which is now home.
