The paper used was a bit too soft to do the eyes properly and I literally do not know if I did some of the pleating properly BUT IT IS A FISH WITH SCALES!

I am very pleased with myself.

This hedgepig was too cute so I had to try folding it! Turned out pretty well, though I did wish for a stiffer paper while shaping the head. It's kinda lopsided.

To hell with Team Iron Man and Team Cap.

I am Team Black Panther. Wakanda forever.

On a whim and because folks on my stream say it's pretty good, I watched a few episodes of the new Queer Eye on Netflix.

I was not expecting to tear up so much. What. Is. This.

Also, more men loving themselves and each other. Yes.

I saw The Last Jedi today. I really enjoyed it! There was a lot of plot mumbo jumbo which tried to fill in the scope of the political struggle. I'll put up with a lot of blah blah blah on that front provided you give me at least one character to love, where I want to hear their story to the end. There was plenty in this!

Though, for me, Rose is the peak. I will fight you all if you yuck my yum about Rose.

Spoilers ok in the comments, so those of you who need to should mute.

Saw The Greatest Showman tonight. I had fun! I thought there were aspects where the storytelling could be tighter. However, it is one of the few musical movies that melds really well the metaphoric conventions and presence of a stage musical with the advantages of editing and staging that a movie has. My biggest disappointment was that the sound system of the theatre couldn't deliver the same epic sound of a stage musical.

I recommend seeing it in theatres, with the best sound you can get.

Thor: Ragnarok is a really fun movie.

Also, I am still on Team Evil Cate Blanchett, even though I know she's going down the wrong path and bad news. I'd be the loyal follower who, in the end, turns against her when ethics finally override love. And then I get killed and she gets even more reckless because everyone has betrayed her and the hero ends it all in fire and sorrow.

Uh...

I might be Hela gay.

I finally got around to watching Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children and it was enjoyable, though kind of in a "it's on in the background" kind of way. I liked the characters and the aesthetics. I think the storytelling wasn't great and a big part of that was the really light, handwavey treatment of the setting and the logical inconsistency of the lore.

And, yeah, any time you muck with time, there's going to be some handwaving. But this was a bit excessive, and not just on the time front.

However, it got my wife and I talking about better setups that preserve as much of the core presented setting as possible and that was fun.

Anyone know if the books hang together a little better? Should I read them?
