A new trendy spot! Food portions are small but delicious and drinks are marvelous! Best mojitos in the city! A must try for happy hour with friends or co-workers. Went here recently with a friend and it was like stepping into a winter wonderland, in its own right. It is a small cozy place, decorated with white leaves and winter themes. The food portions are a little smaller than expected, especially with the price however, the drinks are AMAZING! This bartender is one of the few in the city that REALLY KNOWS how to make a Mojito! If you're in the area, stop here first for happy hour and get your night started. Guaranteed you will be here for a few rounds of marvelous drinks!

Walking into the Market Cafe, we weren't sure what to expect. Perhaps because of the biting cold and wind, it was practically empty but the staff was still attentive and gracious and didn't seem bored which was nice. We started with the bruschetta and gnocchi and I'd never had the ricotta stuffed bread preparation before which was a pleasant surprise. Moving on to the entree, I went with the classic steak frites and though a typical dish I felt the meat was perfectly cooked and the lightly spiced fries absorbed the juice for a great side. The only knock I have on this place was that when we walked in it reeked of cleaning fluids so while it was especially clean, the smell was nearly unbearable. Beyond that, it was amazing food at a reasonable price!

The coffee was as tasteless as colored water and served luke-warm. The eggs benedict were inedible: the ham was thick, rubbery and tasteless, save for an odd unidentifiable slightly metallic aftertaste. The muffin was stale-tasting and soggy, and, along with the eggs on top, the whole thing was served on the cool side and had obviously been sitting out waiting. It was so bad that I could only eat two bites, and the second bite was just taken to confirm my incredulity at how bad the first bite had been. The rosemary home fries were pretty good. I could recommend them on their own. The vegetable omelette was watery and similarly tasteless. The vegetables seems canned (tomatoes, mushrooms), and it was served in a shapeless, unattractive glob. As before, the side, a salad in this case, was reasonable, the vinaigarette fine. Overall, the most tasty part of the meal was the whole wheat toast. To top it off, the service is painfully slow, 20 minutes waiting to take our order, 30 to get our food, and another 30 minute wait for the check, which was only resolved by my standing up, going to the back of the restaurant, and requesting it. Overall, no one in this place is trying or caring to notice how bad it's gotten since its heyday years ago.

Faves: Market chicken w caper berries, spinach-stuffed calamari (portion size varies day to day), chicken salad sandwich w raisins. Burger off recently. Melon martinis always strong, tasty. Price can not be beat. Could use larger beer selection. Staff always fantastic.

We found this restaurant on Yelp. It was a block from the hotel and the food selections sounded great. We were the first customers for the evening (it opens at 5) and the restaurant smelt terrible, like kitty litter. It was bad enough to drive me out, but the friend I was with didn't seem to mind the smell and wanted to stay so I went along with it. The food was pretty good. We had 5 different items- brussels, shrimp tacos, queso, scallops and the fries. Everything had a distinct, unique flavor. The fries were the best thing. Glad we tried it but wouldnt go back.

Absolutely amazing food. The server was attentive and energetic! The server has been here for 19 years and still loves every second of his job. The scallops and mashed potatoes are pan seared to perfection and the flatbread is out of this world. The drinks are strong but delicious, and the happy hour special is well worth it. Stumbled upon this restaurant and enjoyed every second. Highly recommended.
