Little by little, Facebook is building up its walled garden, and in the process, killing any real interaction I once had with people there. My settings don't stick, my close friends get buried in the noise of ads and 'promoted' posts, and I am finding myself blocking and muting sites more and more. It's become a sticky trap, and I'm tiring of it. It's basically a monster-sized ad-server.

I'm back here after a long absence- blowing the dust off things,  cleaning house, tweaking settings and locking it down. I'm going to focus on a few things that are of deep interest to me, and maybe you, if you're the kind of outlier I like to hang around with. We'll see.

I met some really nice people on FB, and that's where I sell books, but my true home is here.

The hymn was removed in the final cut, but the effect was stunning. I really enjoyed the movie. Go see it- all the music is wonderful.

I'd like to go to one of these. I went to one in the UK, which didn't have the jousting show, but it was a raucous good time, due mostly to the Air Traffic Control and Explosive Ordinance crews. They know how to party. The mead didn't hurt, either.
This is a fun story about going behind the scenes at Medieval Times, the chivalrous dinner-theater chain. I keep intending to check out the one in Chicago; maybe this summer.
We sent two staffers to spend the day at the dinner theater's New Jersey outpost.

It's interesting to listen to this with 21st century equipment- all the sonic artifacts that have etched themselves in my mind really stand out.
