Just a reminder - all University of Arkansas offices, including ISS, will be closed tomorrow (Friday, July 4) in observance of the Independence Day holiday.  We wish you all a safe and fun holiday weekend!

We hope you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!  Please remember that all University of Arkansas offices, including ISS, will be closed Monday, May 26 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.  

Also, please note that several ISS staff members will be out of the office next week attending the NAFSA: Association of International Educators annual conference.  The office will still be open for regular hours from Tuesday, May 27 through Friday, May 30, but please allow extra time to contact an advisor, especially regarding issues related to J or H status.

Online (chat) advising will be available May 27 through May 30 at 8:30 and noon, but will not be available at 5:00 p.m. on those days.

Please note that the ISS office will be closed from 12:00 to 1:30 today (Friday, May 23) so that our staff may join new international students arriving for summer international orientation.  12:00 online advising (chat) will not be available today, but chat WILL be available today from 5:00 to 5:30.  Thank you!

The ISS office will be closed this morning beginning at 9:15 a.m. so that all staff may attend a mandatory training session on campus.  The office will reopen no later than noon today (Wednesday, April 16).

Attention On-Campus Students: Spring Break Housing Information
The following halls will close on Friday, March 21st at 5:00 P.M. and re-open on Sunday, March 30th at 12 Noon:
• Buchanan-Droke
• Founders
• Futrall
• Gibson
• Gladson-Ripley, 
• Hotz Honors
• Maple Hill East
• Maple Hill South
• Maple Hill West
• Pomfret (Sponsored Students please contact the Sponsored Students Office)
• Reid
• Walton
• Yocum 

The following academic-year halls will not close for the break but will be receiving reduced staff services:
• Duncan Avenue Apts
• Gregson
• Holcombe
• Humphreys
• Northwest Quad 
There is no additional break housing available.
If you are staying in town, please seek housing with a friend between March 21st and March 30th. If you will have a difficult time to find an alternate housing option, Housing Office MAY able to help you depending on the situation. Please contact so that we can refer you to an appropriate staff in the Housing Office. Thank you.

Spring Break On Campus Employment
As spring break approaches we want to remind all students in F-1 status of their employment options and responsibilities.  From 03/23/2014 to 03/29/2014, continuing F-1 students in valid status are eligible to work on campus full-time.  During this time there is no limit to the amount of on-campus employment a student may perform.  Beginning  on 03/30/2014 the 20 hour per week limit will again be in effect for the remainder of the spring semester.
The same guidelines apply for J-1 students who have authorization from their program sponsor to work on campus.
Please remember that all off-campus work requires prior approval from the ISS Office. 
F-1 student can refer to the CPT information on our website at: .   Any off-campus employment without ISS approval is a violation of status. 
Your on-campus work eligibility expires with the completion of your academic program or your graduate assistantship.  Please consult with an ISS advisor if you have any questions regarding your last date of on-campus work eligibility.
