I give you an update on my large 'Red Beefsteak' for the 'Grow Off' I challenged CaliKim to. I provide an in depth explanation of what a tomato sucker is and how to identify them. Pruning is an art not an exact science or necessary. I explain how and why to do it. I discuss the principles of top dressing your tomatoes when fruit appears and the importance of spraying on an established routine.

Why does lettuce bolt and getting bitter?... answered. I removed most of my cool weather crops and the warm weather crops are in or will soon be in. I discuss top dressing your tomato & pepper plants and how it varies based on the size of the plants. I have beans, cucumbers and melons planted. My determinate tomatoes are 3 feet tall and many of my indeterminate varieties are just getting in the ground. You still have time!

My container plants have leaf spot. I show you how to manage tomato plants once they get leaf spot or a fungal disease. You spray, remove leaves and spray routinely. I also show you how to use a prepare Calcium Nitrate to Stop Blossom End Rot (BER).

The keys to successful container gardens are sun, container size, the right container mix, fertilizing and water management. I show you all the steps to grow container tomatoes, peppers and start herb seeds. Container gardening is easy once you understand the basic. This is a great introduction video.
