US - ASEAN Business Council's Myanmar Business Mission met with Max Myanmar Group of Companies Executive Chairman U Zaw Zaw and his top executives at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel (Pathein Hall) on 6th December 2017.

Mr. Alexander Feldman, President of US - ASEAN Business Council delivered the opening address.

U Zaw Zaw, Executive Chairman of Max Myanmar Group of Companies delivered the welcome speech, welcoming the American businesses and investment into the country and creating more job opportunities for the people and uplifting their capacity and technology transfer at the same time. He urged the visiting mission to build stronger economical ties between Myanmar and the United States.

The event was attended and discussed by the Heads of SBUs of Max Myanmar Group together with AYA Financial Group, and (16) Business Representatives from the United States.

Novotel Yangon Max Hotel received the performance award for Creating Job Opportunity for Disable People, from Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement for International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Novotel Yangon Max Hotel in Myanmar is under Max Hotels Group of Max Myanmar Holding Co., Ltd. and there are (13) staffs working since 2015 till now.

Novotel Yangon Max Hotel will use the award money to the project of Light for Life which is providing the solar system bulb to those living at non electricity areas.

With the guidance of Myanmar’s State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Child Heart Specialist Prof. Dr. Khin Maung Oo from Ministry of Health and Sports and Dr. Do Nguyen Tin, Cardiac Surgeon from Vietnam successfully operated Mg Zin Min Paing, suffering from ventricular septal defect (VSD), who is 4 year old son of U Win Zaw Htay who is a policeman in Taung Pyo Wal, border of Rakhine Sate.

On 27th and 28th November 2017, (14) Children who suffering from heart disease including Mg Zin Min Paing were successfully operated at Yankin Children Hospital.

U Zaw Zaw, Chairman of Ayeyarwady Foundation visited to Yankin Children Hospital together with Head Dr. Daw Myint Myint Khine and encouraged the parents of children on 28th November 2017.

Max Myanmar Construction and Tekken Corporation signed contract for Access Road Project (Infrastructure Development Project Thilawa Phase II) on 27th November 2017 at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel.

The signing ceremony was graced by U Ohn Lwin (Director General of Ministry of Construction), Mr. Seiji Yamamoto (General Manager of Tekken Corporation), Mr. Kaname Oda (Project Manager of Tekken Corporation), U Ohn Kyaw (Vice Chairman of Max Myanmar Group of Companies), U Khin Maung Tint (Vice Chairman of Max Myanmar Construction) and invited honorable guests.

U Ohn Lwin (Director General of Ministry of Construction) delivered the welcome speech, followed by the signing ceremony between Max Myanmar Construction and Tekken Corporation, Introductory Speech by U Khin Maung Tint (Vice Chairman of Max Myanmar Construction) and Mr. Seiji Yamamoto (General Manager of Tekken Corporation), then served Dinner together.

The project is for the 8.7 kilometre four lane road from (T-Intersection to Star City) to (The Entrance to Thilawa SEZ) and estimated period of construction is 18 Months.

Max Myanmar Board of Directors (BOD) 2nd Meeting was held on 21st November 2017, (1st Meeting on 29th September 2017) attended by Executive Chairman, Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Advisors and together with Financial Controllers.

Welcome speech greeted by Executive Chairman and followed by presentation from respective subsidiaries' financial figure.

" Ayeyarwady Foundation gave health support to children of civil servants from Rakhine State "

On 2nd November 2017, Myanmar’s State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi visited Rakhine State and offered to provide the necessary health care to the suffering children at Yankin Children Hospital. With the guidance of State Counselor, U Zaw Zaw (Ayeyarwady Foundation) brought two children to Yankin Children Hospital and provided the required health care.

One of them is Mg Zin Min Paing, suffering from ventricular septal defect (VSD), who is 4 year old son of U Win Zaw Htay who is a policeman in Taung Pyo Wal, border of Rakhine Sate and another healthcare of infantile ailments resulting in nervous disorders and muscular dysfunction to Mg Kaung Htet Naing, 15 years old son of Police Sergeant U Tun Tun Naing who is current working in Kyee Kan Pyin Village, Rakhine State.

Mg Zin Min Paing suffering from health disease was arranged to meet with Health Specialists Prof. Dr. Khin Maung Oo and then the surgery will be carried out by the Cardiac Surgeons from Myanmar and Vietnam at the end of November. Similarly, Mg Kaung Htet Naing suffering from nervous disorders and muscular dysfunction was arranged to meet with Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe (Rector of the University of Medicine 1, Yangon). According to the advice of Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, he was again arranged and tested with Prof. Dr. Ye Myint Kyaw at Neurology Ward of Halpin Children Hospital. Dr. Chaw Su Hlaing from that ward discussed with the child’s parent and provided the necessary treatments. Since Mg Kaung Htet Naing’s muscular dysfunction require time to recover, Ayeyarwady Foundation arranged these required diagnosis and treatments.

During the treatment period, children and their families were provided accommodation and nutrient as well as toured to the some attractions in Yangon.

U Zaw Zaw, President of Myanmar Football Federation met with Mr. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA at the Mayfair Hotel in London during his visit to attend the FIFA Best Awards 2017. During the meet, they discussed positively for the football development in Myanmar and possibility of hosting of World Cup Youth Competition in the ASEAN Region.

Myanmar Football Federation proposed to co-host with it's neigbouring countries for the U-17 and U-20 World Cup Competition in the near future. Also they discussed for the further implementation of FIFA Youth Development Projects for the country.

Ayeyarwady Foundation held its BOD Meeting at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel on 14th October 2017 and was presided by Ayeyarwady Foundation Chairman and Patron U Zaw Zaw, along with members of the Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Aung Tun Thet, Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, U Min Sein and other committee members.

Firstly, Chairman U Zaw Zaw delivered a welcome speech and then touched upon the effectiveness of the organization structure, CSR activities which can be aligned with international standards and to lay down short term as well as long term plans as in the ways of other international well-known foundations. Then, BOD members as well as committee members presented and highlighted issues regarding the Foundation's future Road Map and sustainablity and were actively discussed.

Currently, Ayeyarwady Foundation comprises of five pillars such as Health, Education, Youth Development and Sports, Responsible Business Practice Program and Disaster Management. Recently, Ayeyarwady Foundation supported one of the international leadership training program organized by the Esienhower Foundation where Fellowships for Myanmar Youth Scholars were awarded and in kind cement was donated for rehabilitation in Rakhine State. For better sustainable foundation, BOD decided to enhance its activities from focusing philanthropic donations to a well-structured long-term CSR activities in different sectors.

A ceremony of Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State (UEHRD) chaired by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, was held at National Reconciliation and Peace Centre (NRPC), Nay Pyi Taw on 20th October 2017.

During the event, Max Myanmar Group of Companies Chairman, U Zaw Zaw attended and donated 1 Billion Kyats (1,000,000,000 Kyats) and also received the Certificate of Appreciation from the State Counsellor.

Regarding the recent affairs in Rakhine State, Ayeyarwady Foundation donated 100 Million Kyats for the locals who lost their homes during the violence, 30 Million kyats for the welfare of the remaining families of the deceased civil servants, in kind of donation of cement worth 1.2 Billion Kyats for rehabilitation and today’s donation of 1 Billion Kyats, totalling 2.33 Billion Kyats (2,330,000,000 Kyats) was donated for the Resettlement and Development in Rakhine State.

Max Cement staff donated blood as part of it's CSR Activities at 1000 Bed Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw on 12th October 2017.

Mr. Yves Chua, CEO of Max Cement, said " We would like to give reward back to community where we work around. We feel that blood donation is the best charity that a person can give rather than cash or in-kind. Moreover, we want to set as an example to others for doing this kind of good deeds. "
