Not a new shot, but I finally got around to editing this one. I played around with a bunch of concepts, but I finally decided with some help from my frands, that simple is better.

I maybe would have used two different shots for either side instead of mirroring it, though. Maybe.

Check out this new blog post I wrote for a friend's recently launched blog, MotiveLife.

MotiveLife is supposed to be a resource for automotive photographers, but my recent blog post really applies to studio photographers of any type. #photographytips   #studiophotography   #studiophotographyinsights

Made this post yesterday on Facebook, but I know there are some people on here who I have yet to thank.

Reminiscing on my past accomplishments. Thanks to everyone whose helped me along the way. 26 magazines and 5 covers, I think. Here's to a 2013 where I increase those totals.

I've had a few people recently ask me how this shot was created. Check out this short animation to see a view at the entire editing process from start to finish.

Shot for the March issue of Modified Magazine.

Wanted to show off the lines of the car, so I used a scissor lift to get high above the car. Sides were illuminated with several exposures and 4 Alienbee B800's. Light strips were created by lighting painting with fluorescent. +Mazda USA +RX8 +Modified Magazine

Thats cool. I'm wondering how much fun could be had with one of those mounted in a Caterham Super 7 or a Westfield. I just love engines that rev crazy high.

Well here is my picture for this week's +PHOTIGY  Assignment. If haven't yet heard about Photigy, you can find out more information about our weekly Hangout at www.photigy.com/live.

I somewhat teased it yesterday by throwing out the details that I was going to name it after Chicago.

I've been to Chicago two or three times in my life and it always amazed me how awful the roads are. Everything is a toll road and every road that you don't have to pay to travel on is covered in potholes.

That being said, I hope everyone who is familiar with Chicago gets a few laughs from the pic title.

I present "And You Thought Driving in Chicago was Bad." +Dave Nitsche, this ones for you. :p

Just ordered two strip boxes (I don't know why I havent got them sooner considering I mostly do product photography) and wanted to try them out tonight. This was pretty quick. Experimenting with the best ways to light a glass. This pic would obviously benefit greatly from a clean glass and acrylic ice cubes, but again it's not a portfolio shot...simply a test.

Btw, I'd say this was a pretty successful test. Love trying new equipment.

New blog post co-written by me.

Retina displays are all the rage these days, but are they good for the web? We discuss in this week's DBS blog post.

http://www.dbswebsite.com/blog/2012/07/18/retina-displays-good-for-web-design/
Although Apple has made the Retina display a household name the term “retina quality” can roughly be applied to describe screens with resolutions exceeding 300 pixels per inch. These ultra high-resolu...

Just posted my entry on the +PHOTIGY forums. I've included a couple Behind the Scenes shots. Check it out at...http://www.photigy.com/forum/funny-silverware-shot/a-spare-meal/#p991
I'll let your imagination wander a bit with this one. I've had plenty of nails from construction sites give me a flat tire, but I would have to say I'd be especially peeved if I stepped out to find th...

Started working on mine, but not having great luck with cooking oil or Vaseline catching fire.  Might have to move on to alcohol or gasoline.  Yeah, hard not to think of +Dave Nitsche and his story about almost burning down his house.
