Thought provoking post from +Liz Scherer on +Danny Brown s blog.  Is the future of mentors in Tech #Startups doomed? I certainly hope not!
Is mentoring still a valuable option or has today's VC-led business world made mentoring a four letter word? Liz Scherer shares her thoughts in this guest post.

Thanks, mate, and I can't help but think that anyone who thinks mentoring is outdated is outdated themself. ;-)

Negotiation is an important life skill which we need to share with our children.  h/t +Lauren Hug

My upcoming book has two chapters devoted to helping women negotiate effectively. Interestingly, many women only have difficulty with negotiating on their own behalf. They're pretty spectacular at negotiating on behalf of others.
If we're going to raise the next generation of good negotiators who happen to be women, here's where to start.

When circumstances drive a great orator to create what is recognised to be one of the greatest speeches in history, the rest of us can learn a lot.  +Lauren Hug has distilled some of the lessons we can all take from this without having to imitate the style. #publicspeaking #skillsdevelopment
It is undoubtedly one of the greatest speeches ever caught on camera. It is arguably one of the greatest speeches of all time. American Rhetoric gives it the number 1 spot among its Top 100 Speeches, and it shows up in the Top 10 of greatest speech lists throughout the Western world.

I readily admit to being a perfectionist (who wouldn't!). In reality I know it's actually a very comfortable form of procrastination. I have a tendency to put things off until I am absolutely sure of doing them perfectly. Unfortunately what that means is lost opportunites, delay and dissappointment.
This article by +Bryan Collins  on +Copyblogger   gets to the heart of the problem and this idea is a great way to get that project moving.
Learn how to implement the smart writing trick that helps you overcome perfectionism and pushes you towards completing your content marketing goals.

The good thing about lost opportunities is you can turn them into personal teaching moments and then take action.

2 Radical Social Media Experiments Changed The Online World This Week. Here's How They'll Change Yours.

+Mathew Honan and +Elan Morgan messed with the Social Media Universe this week. By modifying the behavior Facebook algorithms depend on, they put tiny stones in their tiny slingshots and challenged the biggest social Giant out there. Just to see what would happen.

Their experiments yield HUGE takeaways for all of us that extend to EVERY Social Media Platform - not just Facebook. I put them into action and I'll never be going back.

If you believe strongly that social is for building relationships, please read and share this article. Then try it for yourself! I'm eager to learn what it does for YOU.

I'm working on something new at the moment.  I've got the infrastructure sorted out but now I could really do with some help developing content.  If you have a couple of minutes I wonder if you would be very kind and fill in this very short survey or at least pass it on because it  will help me focus my attention on the things that really matter.
