We're happy to announce that we have another "Family History for Beginners" 6-week course starting on Tuesday, 4th September 2018. If you're curious where to start your family history journey, this is the course for you!

Unfortunately, our "Family History for Beginners" evening classes that were scheduled to run from 8th May until 12th June 2018 have been cancelled due to lack of uptake. We're hoping to offer more courses in the future and we'll keep you posted when that will be.

Join us on Saturday, 17 March 2018 at 2 pm for our Annual General Meeting followed by a talk by Neil Fraser entitled "From Aboyne to Australia via Inveruie". Our meetings take place in the Unitarian Church Centre, 43a Skene Terrace, Aberdeen AB10 1RN. All meetings are free and non-members are welcome.

The Society is proud to announce a new database in the Members' Area of our website. Over 1,000 inscriptions in the Society's published MIs include deaths at sea. The memorial inscriptions of these sailors, fishermen, merchants, soldiers, emigrants and colonists have been collected into the Society's Deaths at Sea database which you can now find in the Members' Area of our website under DataBank > Memorial Inscriptions > MI Deaths at Sea.

The next meeting of our Glasgow Group will be this Saturday, 10 February 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Renfield St. Stephen's Church Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 4HZ. Michelle Leonard, genealogist/DNA detective will give a talk entitled "Using DNA To Solve Family Tree Mysteries". This is an open meeting - all are welcome!
