We had a wonderful meal at Maximo Bistrot. The chef is spot on in his flavors with fresh ingredients. Our table mostly ordered seafood. The mussels, ceviche and tuna first courses were execptional as were the risotto and red snapper main courses. My friend had the suckling pig with wonderful translucent skin and a rich flavor. It was a stormy night with the windows open and candlelight giving a good atmosphere and the service was attentive and precise. We will certainly be back!

I had a very bad experience at Maximo Bistro yesterday. The bistro is a little shabby (lack of cleanliness is evident, but locals somehow don't pay attention to it at all) but always crowded place (like Prosecco Rustica in Polanquito) where they serve quite a good food, but their portions are a joke. I can guarantee you that my risotto was less than 100 grams and the price for it was around 400 pesos, which is 24 euros respectively. Do they pretend to be an haute couture kitchen? Are you joking? In Mexico City? I have been all around the world, dining and wining at the best restaurants in London, Paris, Milano, New York City where they serve much bigger helpings to their clients. Very disappointed.

Cannot give enough stars to this restaurant. They have the best food on the planet. I have searched all over the world for a better French Toast and nothing can beat Maximo. Congratulations Chef! And about Erika's review just below... If you think Mexico City is a joke, you're just as ignorant as your review suggests. If you have really been to "the world's best restaurants," you should know that no restaurant with Michelin stars serves super-sized portions. Maximo is indeed one of the best culinary experiences in the world, pound-for-pound, one of its best restaurants. Says someone who has really been at "the world's best restaurants. " Marc Veyrat and El Bulli among them.

Absolutely wonderful dinner here. Ensalada was substantial for being just a starter. Simple, but perfection. The black bass was to die for. Highly recommend visiting this lovely neighborhood bistro.
