Sony's goal in 2015 was to bring a large, high quality FALD model to market at an affordable price. They have the 75X940C. A 75" FALD for a rumored price $7,999 to $8,999. $4,000 to $3,000 less than Samsung's 78" model.

Samsung's largest "affordable" panel  is the 78" this year, a 3 inch difference. It is $11,000.  Yes, Samsung has a 88" panel for $23,000, but how many will they sell at that price point?

My issue with the article is the way it was written and the tone.

In the article it states: "Sony’s 2014 4K televisions: the 55- and 65-inch model enjoy a nearly flawless 5 star review on most sites which is in direct contrast of the 79-inch model, for which reviews average around 3 stars.”

The article continues to state:

"Though the underlying technology is identical in both models, producing larger panels with the same yield quality is still something that Sony has not yet mastered or has been unable to master at a price point that feels comfortable."

The reviews mentioned in article, are they professional reviews from reliable sources that are fair and balanced?  Or are they random reviews from amazon?

Also the screens sizes mentioned means you are referring to the X900B. The X950B is the FALD flagship with two screen sizes. 65 and 85 inches. Yet the article makes no mention of them.

The article makes it seem like sony cannot master large screen sizes and resulted in the smaller sizes of the 2015 line. I do not believe that is the case. My point being the article is written with a spin.
