Meka, since comments aren't working on your blog, I'm putting mine here. I interpreted the topic differently, but since you asked, my office has a door but I rarely close it. No kids and no husband any more, just my adult niece living with me and she doesn't interrupt very often. I do have a "Do Not Disturb Writer at Work" sign hanging from the door handle.
