Basic Information
Sleeping in a camper? Might be fun. Sleeping in a tent? Not so much Pros: They give you a free firestarter when you buy wood ($5). The river is a pretty good view for what it is. Price was $60 for 3 days. You can't reserve for 1 or 2 days. It has to be 3 for some reason (maybe insurance if people wanted to leave early, like most did.) Cheap, but you pay for what you get. During the day it's nice but very boring, intertubing looked really low rate. Cons: The two trains around the campground that use the horn that wake you up at night. Bring ear plugs. Toilets are portable toilets (There were bugs throughout them at night) Showers are not close to where tent users would be. Originally we didn't know there were showers until we left, and there's only 4 for an entire campsite. People were very loud at night past quiet hour at 11 pm until 12:30 am-1 am. People got real tipsy at night and with that they were loud. Lights shine in your tent as you're trying to sleep. I understand others need lights to see where they're going at night, but the owners could install some lamps somewhere near the portable toilets. Location is very remote and away from major stores near outsite Radford (which are also the same quality as the campground.) The wifi coverage is pretty much nonexistent unless you're close to the main building, and your phone coverage is probably not enough to even connect to 3G/4G networks with the bad signal. Space allowed is decently medium space marked by white lines and are right next to other campers. Pretty much a parking lot. No trees in the camping area which is a personal thing but a bummer. Staff were pretty rude when we left early. They're very nice when you're reserving a spot however. **Overall Rating - 1.5/5 stars.** It's just a parking lot with grass. Please go to a different campground and google maps search it first to get an aerial satellite view and inspect it first to see if you like it. Don't go to their website, the pictures are very deceiving. Don't camp here. You're going to not get any sleep, unless you're those people that like to get drunk and be loud, no one's going to stop you. Sorry if this comes off as condescending but honestly.. yikes.
