I created this little video clip with GIMP and GAP. I wish there was more documentation and instructional information available for GAP. I had to insert my video frames between two static image layers and couldn't understand how to automate that process. I ended up painstakingly creating about 150 frames manually. The audio clip was created using Audacity and the audio and video were combined in OpenShot.

I thought I would post this autumn "impressionist" image that combines two layers with the gradient tool. One layer has been smudged and motion blurred at 90 degrees while the other layer is untouched. Oh, and I masked out three trees so they would not appear blurred....

This is for +Patrick David ... I've been intrigued by your 2.5D Parallax tutorial and I've been trying to play around with creating cinemagraphs using Open Source software with a quality approaching that of +Armand Dijcks excellent work (if possible). I know you used Blender and Gimp to create a cinemagraph from a single image. Blender seems so intuitively complex to work with although it is likely capable of completing the task. My question specifically is the filter in G'Mic called Object Animation. Could you create a tutorial on using that specific filter? I've searched the internet and haven't found something easy to follow.

A conceptual image created out of four individual images masked and layered with GIMP. The "ripple" filter was used to create the illusion of ripples in the foreground and finishing touches related to lighting was exported to the Nik/Google Silver Efex Pro 2 ...

This monochromatic image was created from the two colour images in the collage. One image was a normal exposure and the other was a long exposure of the same subject matter. The quality of the long exposure image was very poor but I was determined to make something out of it. I created my own sky for the monochromatic image using the render- clouds- plasma, desaturating the result and then giving it a good gaussian blur. Using the layers and mask, I selectively added some colour to the light marker and added a flare to the green light.

Four images were combined in GIMP to create this conceptual shot. I had to resort to some landscaping rocks in my backyard to come up with the foreground features here.
