Substitute ‘damn’ every time you’re inclined to write ‘very;’ your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be. ~Mark Twain 'Very' is the most useless word in the English...

Writing is alive and well in New York City

"The greatest years of New York City’s literary heritage do not lie in its past. Starting this June, a group of writers based in Maine will open a campus for travelling wordsmiths working from the city’s hotels, sprawling through its streets, and with a curriculum inspired by the fact that sometimes literature isn’t read, it is lived."
