Introducing the ‘right to eavesdrop on your things’

http://www.politico.com/agenda/story/2015/06/internet-of-things-privacy-concerns-000107
I was once in charge of one of the first Coca-Cola machines on the Internet. This was the late 20th century at MIT, where we thought it was pretty awesome that you could, in theory, make the machine dispense a Coke from your desktop computer without having to walk over to it. (Of course you still had to walk there to pick up your Coke in the end.)

Quebec Government May Force ISPs To Block Gambling Websites

http://www.michaelgeist.ca/2015/06/quebecs-website-blocking-plan-gambles-with-the-open-internet/
For governments accustomed to wielding their power to regulate local activity, the Internet has long been a source of frustration. From music sites to Uber to AirBNB, online services represent an enormous challenge to conventional government regulation, which typically relies on a jurisdictional hook to compel compliance. While most reputable global companies can ill-afford to simply ignore laws or court orders, there are still websites that o...

My friend and I were exploring in Salem and we were getting hungry for a bite to eat. We happened upon this place called the Great Wall Buffet and I think it was called a Great Wall for a reason. Everything was bland tasting, The selection was meh and the service was even worse and I cannot describe the food quality in polite company. They had sushi, my favorite, but it was foul tasting filled so much with rice I cannot honestly see how they could even call it sushi. We arrived at that awkward time just after lunch and into dinner and they put the "good stuff" out but that was equally disgusting. In the back of my mind I was thinking you get what you pay for but the dinner food was just as bad as the lunch food and was not worth the increased price for the dinner food and for the increased price of the meal it was certainly not worth it. The service was sub standard and they only came by to remove the dishes and hand us the bill, even when I left my empty cup to suggest a refill of my beverage (a hint to most dining establishments to ask for a refill without asking) they just ignored it. If you are considering going here don't, there are better values in Salem and if you have to go over the "Great Wall" for a unlimited buffet at a fantastic value and great service you will receive neither.

Had to smog my car, so I took it to the closest smog place on my GPS. Big mistake. The customer service sucked. In the end charged me almost $60 just for the test, even as a AAA member. I failed the test and the person just charged my card and said to show the results to my mechanic. I tried to ask questions but it was like he didn't have the time to answer me and abrupt told me to leave. I will never go back to this place for any smog service again.
