Cutting back and cleaning up Ornamental grasses

Oh boy, you know Spring is on the way when it’s time to get out there and start cutting back those ornamental grasses.

They’re really looking pretty winter weary by now.  Tie large tops together to make them easier to cut...

Native salt tolerant plants

I love salt.  It’s a great seasoner.  I don’t love it in my lawn

Road salt can damage your plants by interfering with their water uptake through their root system.  It will look like root damage.  There are many native plants that tolerate...

DESCRIPTION  Minnesota native perennial found in prairies, open woods, and along roads and railroad tracks.  Upright, clump forming plant with rounded, fluffy rose-purple flower heads terminating at the top of rigid, leafy stalks.

Winter work.... nice!

Getting the block work done on the new Garden Pavilion at The Gardens

In between snow falls you can usually expect a couple of warmer days we refer to as the January Thaw... this year was no exception! Just enough time to complete the block work on the Garden Pavilion.
