We are celebrating Multicultural Children’s Book Day this week! I’m so honored to be a Co-Host this year, among amazing influencers who are committed to getting diverse books into the hands of kids around the world. As an author, an influencer and a mom of American Latino children, I’m 100% committed to promote and support stories with characters of color. Please follow our hashtag #ReadYourWorld to read the reviews of many great books that tell diverse stories. I chose to review a great story about Malala Yousafzai and teach my daughter about courage. #DiverseBooks #MCBD2018 #ImACoHost #MulticulturalLiving #Sponsored #PictureBooks #KidLit #DiverseBooks #ChildrensBooks #DiverseCharacters #Author #Diversity #DiversityMatters #KidsBooks #DiversityAndInclusion

Go read #OnTheBlog 10 of those lessons and how we can pass them on for kids of any age. https://buff.ly/2mFngFO #MartinLutherKingDay #MulticulturalParenting #Values #Lessons #MLK #MulticulturalLiving #DiversityAndInclusion #Kids #Parenting #MLKLegacy #MKBKids

I had a great time last Saturday participating in the Cervantino Bilingual Book Fair; so much so that I didn’t share much and spent my time listening to fellow authors and having awesome conversations. I also had the chance to speak to the group and was inspired by so much talent, commitment, and drive. The details are #OnTheBlog. #AmericanLatinos #CervantinoBookFair #Author #LatinoLit #LaFamiliaCool #MKBKids #ChildrenBooks #BilingualBook #Raleigh #NC #Culture #Latinos #Libros #Literatura #Books #MulticulturalLiving #Speaker

As emotions run high after the Dove ad debacle, I reflect on the need to have an inclusion imperative approach to business practices. While today the spotlight is on this brand, unfortunately, we’ve seen our share of fail ads and the root of the problem always points to a lack of #inclusion. Companies cannot afford to just have diverse teams if the decision-making process will ultimately ignore their input. My pov #OnTheBlog, let me know your thoughts. #DiversityAndInclusion #DoveAd #AdFail #InclusionMarketing #InclusiveBusinessCulture #WorkOnInclusion #InclusiveSociety #WeAreAllConsumers

Yikes, the car had almost no oil! Good thing that I decided to do an oil change before heading to the beach with my family, including my sister and her girls who were visiting from DR. Today #OnTheBlog I’m talking about our cultural roadtrip and how I did my own oil change, taking advantage of Quaker State Oil’s everyday low price at Walmart. Years before becoming a newyorker, I was an exchange student on her first ever trip to the United States. That experience changed my life in many ways; today #ontheblog I talk about the things I learned then that helped me years later when I moved here permanently. #AmericanLatinos #TheYearOf40 #Memories #Storytelling #RememberTheTime #Memoir #MulticulturalLiving #MemoryBook #WhenIWas20 #NYC #Dominican #CulturalExchange #NewYorkCity #Personal #PhotoProject #MKBKids #MyLife #1997

When people talk and think about poverty in the developing world, the images almost always are of sad people, dirty and barefoot. While those are part of the reality of living in poverty, it doesn’t mean people don’t smile, shower, have dreams and aspirations like anyone else. That’s why I tell my kids often about my life growing up and believe we should give a complete picture so they can be compassionate and respectful human beings. https://buff.ly/2gHZp4C #Parenting #DiversityAndInclusion #Empathy #Poverty #HumanExperience #MKBKids #MulticulturalLiving #MulticulturalParenting #Love #Peace #RaisingMulticultural #DiversityInAction #Understanding #Strength #PowerInUnity #CreateUnity
