This is one of my favorite late night dinners on the west side. The food is great, the atmosphere is awesome and it's away from the hustle and bustle of streets like Melrose. Definitely make a reservation if you're going for dinner, and definitely order the spicy tuna with crispy rice, miso cod, and shishito peppers.

Although I go to Katsu-ya on a regular basis, butth this was the first time I'd been to Izaka-ya. The first thing I noticed was the choices of food were different than most sushi restaurants - especially if you're not a sushi fan (my son and some of my friends). Everything that we ordered was delicious. I'd heard that the service could be slow, but it was excellent. I'll definitely go back.

There's a reason why there's always a line outside of this 3rd street Katsuya location. Reliable food that you've come to expect from the Katsuya name.

This place is always croweded, but has GREAT sushi! Love the creamy salmon cut roll with the red onions! Spicy tuna, crab cones are incredible. Toro and crispy spinach too! Would definitely recommend this place!

One of the best sushi places in LA. Spicy albacore with crispy onion is a must. Lots of creative dishes. Wait can be long during peak hours. Valet parking available. Now open for lunch I hear...

for sushi thats out of this world, Izaka-ya is definitely a favorite on the list! some of the freshest fish and unique dishes this side of town. When the head chef is always behind the counter you know this is a place to come back to.

i was underwhelmed here. if your going to pay what you pay, you should get more at a dialed down place like you would see at katsuya in brentwood or hollywood
