Elisheva Marcus, our new columnist in Berlin, took refuge in Berlin’s Bode Museum for an insightful curator-led tour of a current exhibit called “The Lost Museum, Das Verschwundene Museum.”

Directly after the war ended in 1945, hundreds of world-class artworks were destroyed or damaged in two fires, ironically while being held for safe-keeping in a military bunker in Friedrichshain, Berlin. This astonishing exhibition contains fragments of that art collection.

Van Gogh voor blinde en slechtziende
Vijf keer per jaar nemen speciaal getrainde rondleiders de blinde en slechtziende bezoekers mee door het museum, waar het verhaal van Van Gogh wordt toegelicht aan de hand van zijn schilderijen uit de vaste collectie. In een speciaal ingericht atelier vindt vervolgens een aanraaksessie plaats.

The permanent collection has undergone a transformation in its presentation. It was time for her to pay another visit and get to know Van Gogh, not only as an artist, but as a person, as well.

For the second time in a row the Rijksmuseum is organising the competition 'Make your own Masterpiece'. Designers are invited to create a design using Rijksstudio. Forget the € 10.000 you can win, as the ten best designs will be exhibited in the Rijksmuseum. Closing date is March 15.
