If you're in the area and like a good burger, the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast, head over and order the cheese and bacon burger. Your tastebuds will be grateful - your cardiovascular system less so.

This seemed to be a bit of a controversial one. Those who like the food and can slip under Marvin's radar love it. Those who end up ensnared tend not to return. Your mileage may vary.

Footie finally finished

Here's a review of MedAsia Playa in Quisisana. Sane indeed since they left the football match on TV but muted the sound.

Historically speaking

Proper Maltese food for next to nothing. I suggest a visit, especially if accompanied by friends from overseas. There's the experience with only a sliver of cheesiness that can easily be forgiven.
The better sense normally applies to the bits of it created by our forefathers (who despite a vow of celibacy managed to be our forefathers anyway), while the stranger bits have been added later by ou...

Have been to Nenu's and have since been pushing everyone I know to go and eat there, I was so happy to find somewhere actually selling proper traditional Maltese food - something that seems to really be lacking on this rock.
Needless to say the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere too. If you haven't already, go there!

Colliding Continents

The Mediterranean, North Africa and India meet in this charmingly ambitious restaurant in Mdina called Sharma.
I complained about the heat today, (half) jokingly claiming that I couldn't wait for summer to be over. I was treated to the glares one gets when he suggests he'd like to eat a puppy. The same...

I seem to have skipped a couple of reviews so please excuse the mini barrage to your stream!

Here's a link to a review of La Cuccagna.

Six of us ate there last night. I also had the capricciosa and it was delicious. I found the waiting staff to be very efficient and seemed to be enjoying themselves. The table was very small for the six of us but, once the plates had arrived, there was actually enough room and we were close enough to each other that we felt like one party. Very enjoyable and I'd return.

Nothing better than an unlikely find. Str.Eat fed me one of the best steaks I've had for ages. I've been again since the time of the review and have an added recommendation to make. If you're up for a quiet meal, visit during the week and order steak. If you're more in the mood for a slightly rowdy post-office drink, head over on Friday evening. Don't plan a quiet meal over the weekend though!
As fun as it is to discover new places every week, with variety comes risk. The risk of landing inside a restaurant that makes you wish you'd stayed home. So it is always a pleasure to return to t...
