The atmosphere is magical, the culinary experience sumptuous and the service is always courteous and professional. We have been dining here for the last 6 years, usually for special occasions, and we love the place so much that we are having our wedding here in less than a month. We recently tried the brunch and were delighted at the quality of the food and the experience. The champagne that they serve here is delicious; I don't know what it is but everyone who I know has visited has always commented on the champagne. The place isn't cheap and the portions aren't always huge (although weekend brunch is basically all-you-can-eat) but, as with all expensive restaurants, it's all about the experience which my fiancee described as "fantastical".

Invited here for a business brunch and it was different...in a good way. The space is open it course, eating outdoors, the food was a mixed bag for me. Their Shrimp omelette didn't succeed for my taste. Our waiter insisted I try something else and recommended the Scramble with Lox a better choice and good. Some of the others at our table also had disappointing food according to them. Everyone agreed that the Cinnamon Roll was better than good. Having said all of that the space is beautiful, sitting in an Oak Groove with frogs singing to me from the water. Nice.

Wow for $90 per person it was a rip off with the food they served us. I wasn't the only customer who complained about serving us a half of filet mignon. What you pay for is the scenery but the food sucked. I could've got better view and more food for the price I paid, honestly after dinner my gf and friends we all went to eat tacos, that's how bad the service and the food was. It's more for vegan ppl and the service? When I arrived, the hostess didn't acknowledge me after 8 min standing in front of her. Trust me there's more.. I will post pictures later on to show you how little we got for our Valentine's special. Stay away from this place, take your business somewhere else where your more appreciated and more for your buck.

Found a LIVE TICK on the table. Took a pic to make sure. So we immediately left. Lyme disease is rampant in that area, FYI.

Don't know why I am bothering - if you look at yelp and trip advisor, all the bad reviews the restaurant owners don't read or bother to respond, so you know it just won't get better. Here's the review: This used to be 5 stars.... It's overall commitment to food quality and service are absolutely gone. I went there yesterday for a lunch with my friend. It was always a great place to nourish the body and the soul. I was just flabbergasted at our service and food quality. We had a short wait for seating and bought some items at the little gift shop, which is always fun. We were seated creek side and we were enjoying the ambiance. Our waitress took our order and promptly returned with our beverages. Some time later we received our lunch entrees without the requested side of bread. I asked for another tea when the meal came and also reminded about the bread and that was the last we saw of the waitress....ever. She just vanished. So while waiting for my tea and bread, we started on the entrees. My salmon was seared to perfection on the outside, only to be discovered gelatinous and raw on the inside. We waited patiently for our waitress to return and after 20 minutes of not seeing ANY waiter or waitress, we had to get a water server to take the salmon back and try to find out waitress. He said he would be back with the salmon cooked. By now my friend had finished her entree. After another 10 - 15 minutes and the salmon had not returned, we just got up and searched and searched until we found the seating attendant and asked for her to get us a check so we could leave. We told her what happened and she just looked pained. We could not see any waiters or waitresses. Did they call a meeting and forget everyone??? It was just awful! How could they dive to these depths? We made the trip especially to have a nice lunch and after driving a very long way, it was a disappointing trip indeed. Take this one off the "always recommend" list. It was a steady best-bet for a romantic or good-karma meals for ten years, but not any more. How disappointing

If I could rate this with negative stars I would. Booked with plenty of time for a Saturday Wedding Night dinner and drove an hour to get there. 1. Gazebo we were told we had was not available until an hour after our dinner reservation. 2. No one was available or anywhere to be found when we arrived for our reservation. 3. Women's bathroom had been taken over by a wedding party and turned into the bridal suite. Apparently they only have one available for guests. It was very awkward and uncomfortable for my wife. 4. When we finally were seated there was a long trail of ants surrounding my wife's back and a lot of fallen twigs and leaves all over the seat. Great combination for a wedding dress! 5. There was a storage space within 5 feet of our backs which reeked of leaking propane tanks which were piled high and lit patio heaters only a few feet away. 6. When I made the reservation I mentioned my wife liked chicken and vegetable entrees. The menu had only a handful of selections and none of what was described when I made the reservation. The parking attendant was gracious and spoke with us when we left after 10 minutes. He noted that the owner was actually a very nice person and would want to hear about our experience. He took my number. As of this writing, 4 days after the debacle, I still have not heard a word. They ruined what was supposed to be a very special evening that we will NEVER GET BACK!! Ken Gunville

The most charming and romantic restaurant around. Really felt like a magical experience. Place has an interesting history and amazing food, a must visit if you are in or passing through the Topanga canyon area.

Not the place for me, but others enjoy it. It always feels like I am eating in someone's backyard.
