Bom dia, ‘You guys are all entrepreneurs’ said Martin Velasco, addressing our class. “You all have left our ‘comfortable’ pasts and have invested in your future.” Martin Velasco, considered a leading European “Business Angel” and serving on the board of several high-tech companies, was invited to address us by Professor Benoit, who seems to be connected to all the investors and entrepreneurs on both sides of the Atlantic. Earlier, the entrepreneu...

Another day, another close shave - an asteroid called 2012 XE54 was discovered less than a week ago, just two days before it passed by us at a distance of just 230,000 km. This one was also fairly large, with a diameter of 36 metres. That's a surface area of 4100 m2, or a football field and a half (or 1.5 acres). Asteroids under 10 metres or so in diameter tend to burn up in the atmosphere on

Hi Folks!

My team and I have submitted an entry for a social change competition which will help set the agenda for the next General Elections in India.

We want to bring about a dramatic improvement in the quality of primary education for children in India by empowering local communities all over India especially in rural districts. We believe our solution will do this and we URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP to implement our solution which is the result of extensive research and domain knowledge in this area.

Please VOTE for our submission at the link given below, we need lots more votes and time is running out as the deadline is in the next few hours. It literally takes JUST A FEW SECONDS.

I also urge you to share our presentation's link with your friends and ask them to vote. WITH THIS VOTE YOU HAVE THE POWER TO INFLUENCE THE DEBATE IN THE COMING ELECTIONS.

Thank you so much for your time and support on this.

Best wishes.

The Jurchen number system, and its relationship to Mongolian and Khitan, has been well-studied (e.g. Janhunen 2003 pages 399–400; Kiyose 2000 page 184; Laufer 1967). What is less well understood is the relationship between Jurchen number characters and the tablature signs used for writing music for the Chinese lute (pipa 琵琶). I am an amateur history buff who likes to dabble in lots of different things but somehow they all connect with each other. Some of the history I am reading these days is - Biblical history, Islamic history, bits of Roman history, Medieval Indian history, Pre-modern Indian history and the British Raj. I like languages and till about three years back I used to go gaga over Latin and Romantic languages and I loved reading about the Indo-Europeon lingual family tree. However since then my first love has become the Semitic group of languages with Arabic (in all its forms) taking the lead followed by Syraic and Hebrew. These are linked with the kind of history I am reading these days. My love for Arabic was actually initiated by my need to understand Urdu etymology better. One thing led to another and so on and so forth... I indulge in a bit of photography and I like to think of myselft as a good calligrapher though the honest truth is that I am destined to stay at the bottom rung of the ladder. I love to prance around old monuments and in that sense I am blessed because Delhi is chock-a-block with them. Oh and maps, I love maps :) http://www.librarything.com/catalog/harkabir
