Hello,
I just signed the petition, "Administration of Wichita High School East: Allow special needs students the opportunity to earn a varsity letter if they participate in a school sponsored team."
I think this is important. Will you sign it too?
Here's the link:
http://www.change.org/p/administration-of-wichita-high-school-east-allow-special-needs-students-the-opportunity-to-earn-a-varsity-letter-if-they-participate-in-a-school-sponsored-team
Thanks,
Jun
My classmate, Michael Kelley, has a lot of pride for our school. One of his favorite extra curricular activities is playing on one of our basketball teams. Michael has shown amazing commitment to the sport; he makes the practices and works hard. But unlike his fellow students, Michael is not allowed to earn a varsity letter. Why? Because he has Down syndrome, and our school doesn't allow special needs teams to have letters. All students who ...

Once this course is done, and you'd like to continue with Python MOOCs, take a look at this course...

+Fairy World Thanks! And yah, I agree... the logic was very brain numbing! LOL! But, hey, after all that work you have a working program! That's what matters! :D

Hello all!

I just found out about this group...
I've been perusing the coursera class forums lately and have been posting as anonymous...

Anyway, I'm a Thinkful.com Ambassador so if, after you've completed this course and would like to pursue python even more (as in web development) talk to me...

I'm not a TA for the course but I suppose I know Python well enough to help out.. I've been coding in Python for about 2 years now and in the past year as a part-time web developer. I'm taking this course because it's always good to go back to basics... and it would be nice to have a certificate that says I know "Python"! :)

Hi +Liquan Yang and +Liat MeeYun Shapiro !
Have you guys taken a look at the website Thinkful.com? If you haven't yet, have a look when you get the chance...
Basically, Thinkful is a mentorship program. It's a bit different than a coding bootcamp... the catch is, it's not a free... but it's very worth it in my opinion...
The course I took was: https://www.thinkful.com/courses/learn-python-online

And I've been able to use the knowledge that I learned through Thinkful to become a web developer at my work... I used Python, Flask, and a MySQL database to create an online training program for the employees and I'm able to keep track of everyone who has done and hasn't done their required training.
Also, but not too impressive, I've created a simple web app that converts  amino acid single-letter sequence representation to its three-letter equivalent. You can check out the code here: https://github.com/kajun/peptide_tools
And the code in action: http://peptools.americanpeptide.com

The thing about Thinkful that makes it worth it is the mentorship... You have a curriculum, like what we're doing here in MOOC, but that you have a mentor (someone who works as a Python professional) to help you out through the curriculum. If you have a question, they'll be there to answer your question and explain how it works... and even work through the problem with you through web meetings.

Let me know if you're still interested.. :)

Hey people - Strange one but a very important one for me.

My daughter is disabled and has recently been given splints to help her start to walk. She's never been able to wear shoes other then ones given to her to help her feet, and they have been very unfeminine huge boots.

So I am calling on the community to see if someone more skilled could design something or make some vinyl graphics just to make them more girly for her. You can help just by sharing the post and hopefully someone that can help will see it.

Well said Annabelle. And who says no one has the chance to renew herself? We all make mistakes. It's so easy to forgive men but a women are scorned for life. SMH!
