My name is James and I live in Southampton, UK.
I have been taking photos since my first compact digital camera and documented my entire social life throughout my time at Portsmouth University. After graduating and moving into full time work, I invested in a DSLR. From there the addiction started.
I experimented with light and the different camera settings. Using a digital camera coupled with lessons and techniques viewed on the internet, my knowledge grew until I found it second nature. However, although I knew my camera’s settings like the back of my hand, I lacked any experience using them in the real world.
I then discovered Street Photography.
Now, I shoot anything with human influence in. As long as people are in or have effected what is in my viewfinder, I press the shutter button.
I have recently discovered analogue photography and love it. My film SLR camera and lens for under £50 brings me more joy to use and rewarding results than my expensive DSLR. Everyone takes digital photos these days, and inserting an SD card into a digital camera is nothing like loading a 35mm camera with a roll of film.
