"Jim Link ... said employers currently have a huge opportunity to strengthen their retention strategies by implementing more structured, personalized career paths for employees." True for the full workforce, and especially so for millenials.
A lack of career path, not salary, is the top reason employees leave their jobs, according to Randstad’s 2015 Employer Branding Survey.

We're definitely seeing this as many applicants conduct discreet continuous job searches, even once employed. Looking for career development and advancement.

"You need someone who will tell you when you are making a mistake." Interesting thoughts on reframing negativity in our workplaces.

It's a fun challenge to do the research for this kind of presentation. And always a good conversation with other HR professionals at our monthly KDHRA gathering.

Cascading stresses and anxiety this week, from stock market turbulence to back-to-school drama. Great example from Starbucks CEO, empowering employees to recognize this in customers.

The CEO's full memo ends with praise for his employees, putting his recommendation into action: "The experience we deliver in our stores, the strength and equity of our brand, and the primary reason for our current and future success is because of all of YOU. I believe in you and have never been prouder to be your partner."

Training employees on social media skills. Great idea from Dell that builds professional skills, empowers personal brand, and benefits the employer!
