Are Interest Rates Affecting the Real Estate Market?

Over the past year, the average mortgage rate has increased by almost 1%. This has certainly affected affordability, but is it really driving the shift that we’re seeing in the market? In my opinion, it’s the continual growth we’re seeing in home prices that is causing the change. Our lack of inventory over the years is finally catching up with us as prices continue to climb higher and higher. What does this mean for you if you’re thinking of buying or selling a home in the near future? To find out, watch our latest video.

Why do so many real estate websites ask for your contact information? Why can’t you just search for homes without entering your email address and phone number? Different websites have different reasons. If you are on a professional Realtor’s website, like mine, we only use your contact information to reach out and see if we can help you. Other websites aren’t so straightforward. To learn more, watch this short video.

How to Prevent and Identify Wire Fraud

Being protected in today’s digital age is incredibly important. Today, I want to go over some of the ways you can prevent a particularly insidious scam which often targets buyers in real estate: wire fraud. Wire fraud occurs when a home is close to closing and the buyer needs to wire funds to a title company. A hacker will intercept the funds, and they'll disappear into wrongful hands. The Federal Reserve increased its federal funds interest rate by 0.25%, and they’re expected to raise rates once or twice more over the course of 2017. What does this mean for the real estate market? Can You Buy a Home With a Low Down Payment?

A recent survey revealed that 55% of people who think they can't buy a home are mostly worried about coming up with the money for a down payment. With home pricing continuing to grow in our market, it's easy to see why. It can be especially frustrating when you consider that just a few years ago, anyone with a pulse could secure a home loan. If you don't think you have enough money for a down payment, all hope is not lost. To find out why, watch this short video.
