What Happens to Your Contact Info on Real Estate Sites?

Why do so many real estate websites ask for your contact information? Why can’t you just search for homes without entering your email address and phone number? Different websites have different reasons. If you are on a professional Realtor’s website, like mine, we only use your contact information to reach out and see if we can help you. Other websites aren’t so straightforward. To learn more, watch this short video.

How to Prevent and Identify Wire Fraud

Being protected in today’s digital age is incredibly important. Today, I want to go over some of the ways you can prevent a particularly insidious scam which often targets buyers in real estate: wire fraud. Wire fraud occurs when a home is close to closing and the buyer needs to wire funds to a title company. A hacker will intercept the funds, and they'll disappear into wrongful hands. To learn more and hear nine ways to protect yourself from this scam, watch this short video.

Should You Work With an Agent When Buying New Construction?

If you are interested in buying a new construction home, do you need to hire a real estate agent? I would say absolutely yes, and there are a few reasons why. First, though, you need to hire a real estate agent right away. If you sign on with a builder while you’re just looking at model homes, they will not let you bring on an agent when you decide to buy from them. To learn more about buying a new construction property, watch this short video.

What Does the Fed’s Recent Rate Hike Mean for the Real Estate Market?

The Federal Reserve increased its federal funds interest rate by 0.25%, and they’re expected to raise rates once or twice more over the course of 2017. What does this mean for the real estate market? Though any move the Fed makes usually causes some anxiety, I believe these increases will not have any significant impact on our market. There are a few reasons why. Can You Buy a Home With a Low Down Payment?

A recent survey revealed that 55% of people who think they can't buy a home are mostly worried about coming up with the money for a down payment. With home pricing continuing to grow in our market, it's easy to see why. It can be especially frustrating when you consider that just a few years ago, anyone with a pulse could secure a home loan. If you don't think you have enough money for a down payment, all hope is not lost. To find out why, watch this short video.

If you’ve been planning to sell your home or even if you’ve just been tossing the idea around, I’ve got some good news to share. Home prices are now higher than they were back in 2006, the last time our market peaked. Don’t worry, though—even with soaring prices, we aren’t heading towards another bubble. There is a real limited supply of inventory right now, and buyers want more options. Your home could fetch a fantastic price with these conditions. To learn more, watch this short video.

Appraisals & Their Outcomes With Buyers or Sellers

You've likely heard the term before, but do you know all that goes into an appraisal, and even what it is for? There are tons of variables that go into an appraisal, but the appraisal itself is a value assigned to your home by a neutral third party to help a bank decide if they will loan you the money for your mortgage. Any buyer financing a home purchase will need to order an appraisal. Depending on the offer in your contract, the appraisal can make or break a deal on a home if not handled properly, which is why it's so important to have a real estate professional on your side to help you through the process and avoid these issues. For more on appraisals and potential outcomes, watch this short video.
