“Raha means ‘comfort’ in Arabic, and it brings back happy memories for people – it’s a taste of home.”

Abu Rabee, a refugee from #Syria creates traditional hand-made sweets in the Za’atari camp in Jordan, helping #childrenuprooted and adults keep some memories of their lives before they fled.

Last year, Nujeen Mustafa’s journey as a #refugee from Syria captured the hearts of millions as she fled war to seek an education and the medical attention she needs. Now, she tells her story in her new book ‘Nujeen: One Girl’s Incredible Journey from War-torn Syria in a Wheelchair”.

It’s an uplifting story, as Nujeen was reunited with her family, unlike many children today who are still making the dangerous journey or are now stuck in squalid refugee camps. Children in Calais, who have the legal right to be in the UK, are trying over 2,000 times a week to reach here and be reunited with their own families.

Written with Christina Lamb, best-selling co-author of “I am Malala”, Nujeen is the story of a remarkable girl and a reminder that she and millions of others aren’t refugees. They aren’t migrants. They’re #ChildrenFirst.

These twin girls play in the corridor of a #school-turned-shelter in Aleppo, where they now live with their family after being displaced from western part of #Aleppo. Children do not bear any responsibility for the bombs and bullets driving them from their homes. But they are the first to be affected by war and conflict. We will do whatever it takes to make sure they never lose hope.

In Athens, #Greece, children attend school for 40 minutes each day in the Skaramagas #refugee camp. Several refugee teachers are teaching some 650 refugee children at the #Unicef-supported school, that provides classroom supplies, teachers and technical assistance for formal education in the camp. Children are fleeing war and disaster in greater numbers than at any time since World War 2. Millions of children are being forced to leave their homes, risking their lives on dangerous journeys in search of safety. Many find themselves alone, without family and in terrible danger. Supporting refugee children is everyone’s responsibility #ChildrenUprooted

Globally 28 million children have been forcibly displaced, fleeing conflicts not of their making. We must call on our world leaders to use the opportunity of the UN Summit on 19 September to protect #EveryChild. This summit is an historic moment to find a way to respond to the unprecedented #RefugeeCrisis that has already claimed countless lives and torn apart many families. #ChildrenUprooted

Our Change for Good partnership with @easyJet has already raised over £7 million and is making an incredible difference. Thanks to the generosity of @easyJet customers, we’ve helped to save and change the lives of millions of children. Yet there is still so much to do. To #endpolio forever, we must reach every child. Give to on-board collections when you fly – your support is vital to help keep children safe. #MondayMotivation
