#13 Practical Anatomy of the Spine Series : How Adjustments to your cervical spine can help you with your health

We have finally traveled up the entire thoracic spine to the cervical spine. There are seven cervical vertebrae from C-7 to C-1 that reside near the top of your spine, above your mid back, closer to your neck region. C-7 is close to your thyroid gland, bursa in the shoulder and elbows which can be connected to bursitis, thyroid issues, shoulder and other conditions. C-6 is connected to your neck muscles, shoulders and tonsils. When you have a stiff neck, upper arm pain, arm weakness, and loss of grip strength it may be connected to a subluxation in this area. C-5 is higher up near your vocal cords, neck glands, and pharynx, connection to symptoms of to laryngitis, hoarseness, whiplash, and throat conditions.

#12 Practical Anatomy of the Spine Series : How Adjustments to your lumbar spine can help you with your health

To finish up our extended anatomy lesson covering the length of the spine and all the associated subluxation effected we approach the top of the spine from T-4 to the Brachial plexus. T-4 connects to the gallbladder, common duct, heart, lungs, and bronchial tubes, making subluxation in this area symptoms associated with gallbladder conditions, jaundice, shingles, and other conditions. T-3 is a little higher, connected to your lungs, bronchial tubes, pleura, chest, breast and heart. Conditions like bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia, and congestion. T-2 is even higher -- closer to the heart, including its valves and covering coronary arteries; lungs; and bronchial tubes. If you have high or low blood pressure, chest pains, heart conditions, irregular heartbeat, asthma, bronchitis, and breathing conditions. At the top of the thoracic spine is T-1 which connects to the arms from the elbows down, including hands, arms, wrists and fingers, esophagus, trachea and heart. These vital connections when subluxated can result in asthma, dry cough, shortness of breath, bronchitis, breathing problems, and other conditions.

#11 Practical Anatomy of the Spine Series : How Adjustments to your lumbar spine can help you with your health

Moving right along up the spine for our anatomy series we encounter T-7, T-6, and T-5 which is still in the main portion of the thoracic spine which connects to many of the same areas -- as the vertebrae are small in comparison to our organs. The pancreas, duodenum, stomach, liver spleen, peritoneum, gallbladder and esophagus are areas associated with T-7 and T-6 and T-5 also connects to general heart circulation and the solar plexus. This area is important for your vitality as it can be associated with diabetes, gastritis, pancreatitis, ulcers, digestive disorders, blood disorders, indigestion, heartburn, colitis, liver troubles, stomach problems, and general circulation problems.

Still need more reasons to seek spinal care? As we near the end of our practical anatomy series, it is getting more and more clear how the simplicity of adjustments can help improve your health by keeping your risk of subluxation effects low.
