Our Branding Company for today--LEGO everyone has played or wanted to play with LEGOs as a notkid, heck I still play with them with my daughter today. LEGO is one of the most famous brands not only in toys but in the world. But how did LEGO get its name. Well the LEGO company was started in 1949 in Denmark, building connecting blocks and now have produced over 600 billion different pieces. LEGO got its name from two Danish words "leg" "godt" which means "Play" "Well" and thats exactly what we have done since 1949.

Branding is the number # 1 key to long term growth for any company. The first and most important decision any new company makes is naming its company. Some are very simple such as Joe's plumbing. Another large group is name partly for the founders name such as Walmart and McDoanlds. A new feature for Flutterworks on Sunday will be telling the story of companies that have interesting stories of how they came up with their catchy company name. Its all about branding. Our first company is LEGO.

TBT--Flutterworks presents Throw Back Thursdays--this week Compuserve. Remember going to the grocery store in the 90's and seeing that wall of Disks from AOL, Prodigy, and Compuserve. Dial up was really the only way to get online and Compuserve was one of the giants. Compuserve was founded in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. Compuserve reached its peak in the late 90's and quickly as technology advanced started its decline until being purchased by fellow dial up company AOL. Today not much is left of Compuserve except some old disks laying around and their old web portal.
