I am Italian and I wanted the try 500. The antipasto (bruschetta and grilled octopus) were really good and the initial start made me hope. I then had a sample of their food: Bucatini alla Carbonara, Sole, Trout, Gnocchi, etc... All the food was only passable. In particular, the bucatini had so much sauce that it was not the delicate dish it needs to be. The Sole and Trout were so full of salt that we did consider sending it back. The gelato was again passable in that is was way way to rich in sugar. Couple with the silly typos from italian on the menu (Ciacolato as opposed to Cioccolato, for example), I think this is no more than a wannabe Italian restaurant lacking the skills to entertain their guests with great taste. Finally, the service was below average. Couple with one of the most noisy environments I experienced, this was simply a nice evening among friends instead of a food experience.

My husband and I went to this restaurant hoping for a nice meal for our anniversary. We were very disappointed! Each of our dishes was almost good but after eating in all of the really great restaurants in and around Boston I would rank our meal at about a 3 out of 10. Also the service was not very good. Our waitress did take our order promptly but when the food arrived she never came back to ask us how it was. She probably didn't really want the answer but if she had check with us I could have told her that the side to my chicken was ice cold and she completely forgot to bring me the spinach I had originally ordered. This is a pass. So many better restaurants out there!!!!!

I have had drinks here and that has been great, but I went there for a date last Friday and the food and especially the service was top notch. I highly recommend.
