The AP reports that the men who detonated explosives to kill innocents at the Boston Marathons and later engaged in a shoot-out with police (after shooting an MIT security guard execution-style) didn't have gun permits, according to Massachusetts state police.

But wait a minute.  I thought a rigorous system for regulating gun permits was supposed to prevent gun violence (that's what Massachusetts state officials insisted upon passing the nation's toughest gun laws back in 1998).

It's almost as if the Tsarnaev brothers -- terrorists, murderers, carjackers -- had no respect for the (gun) laws . . .

DON'T TRUST TWITTER TRENDS. TWITTER LIES. Pew found: "Twitter users are not representative of the public. Most notably, Twitter users are considerably younger than the general public and more likely to be Democrats or lean toward the Democratic Party."

Where's the citations and sources? A lot of claims were made here. Don't take anything at face value. "Just because something [is legal], doesn't mean" it's right or moral. Marriage is not and never has been (only) about love.

We worked with a guy named Christopher Yuen who did a good job explaining the solar install process, costs and fees. He no longer works for Brio. As a whole, we felt like we were left in the dark most of the time. We never really knew what the next step was in the process and no one could give us a definitive answer when we asked when each install milestone would take place. We were also confused about the different parties involved. Apparently, Brio doesn't install the panels; they just sell them. They contract the install with Altaray Solar. We had to coordinate with them throughout most of the project. From purchase to install, the whole process took 6 month. As of this posting, we have the panels installed but no net meter. The county has yet to inspect and Rocky Mountain Power (bless their pointed little heads) has not come out yet. In all, we're feeling like we got talked into doing something we didn't necessarily need and are already paying interest on a loan for something we have yet to benefit from.

Lord, take me now. I cannot begin to describe how horrible this hotel is. It doesn't even deserve to be labeled "economy" quality. First impression: I walked into the "office" where a drunk guy was snoring in the ratty armchair in the corner. Behind the counter was a big, nasty tomboy with greasy, unkept hair, facial piercings, sagging pants and filthy clothes. She looked like a fatter, scarier version of Vince Neil. She scowled at me when I said hello. Talk about creating a horrible image. This was after driving over several potholes in the parking lot that nearly destroyed my transmission. The beds are hard as a rock. The "smoke-free" room and linen smell of smoke. The "kitchen" light was out and the only person who was available was our friend, the greasy tomboy with facial piercings. She asked to stand on my suitcase to reach the light. Seriously? The pillows had grease stains on them. The bathtub had pubic hair in it that was never cleaned out before I arrived. I don't want to think about what animal it came from. The toilet seat was loose (I've had to fix it myself because I refuse to allow Vince Neil in my room again). The internet connection is slower than dial-up. I'm not exaggerating that. Seriously. It took 20 minutes to finally log into Google just so I could write this review. That's right, I'm sitting in the very hotel that I'm criticizing and I have no heartburn about that. Do yourself a favor and do not come near this hotel.

My family just stayed at the Hotel Glenwood Springs. We had an awesome time. The hotel was super clean. The indoor water park was perfect for our young kids. And we got discount tickets to the local attractions like Glenwood Caverns. You can't beat the location, too! It's right next to the gondola ride to the mountain top! We were most impressed with how accommodating the staff was, especially Savana. We could tell she tried very hard to make our stay an enjoyable one. She even made a conscious effort to remember our names and say hello whenever we would visit the lobby. Now what kind of night shift manager actually does that?!?! We can't say enough good about HGS and its people. Thank you so much for a great family vacation! We'll be sure to come back. Sincerely, Jacob Webb and family.

I can't speak for other Harbor Freight locations but the one on 3300 South in Salt Lake City is an abomination. Granted, you expect the quality of their tools to be poor given the dirt cheap prices. But the appeal and service is by far the worst I have ever experienced in my life. The property looks like it just survived a hurricane. Trash is usually scattered about the front property and the floors are barely clean. But the worst thing about it is the customer service. The employees are rude, ornery, irritable, slow and highly unkempt. It's like the managers go recruiting at a homeless shelter or something and don't expect their employees to come to work bathed. Frankly, they're all covered in disgusting tattoos, body piercings, and their clothes look like the back side of a canvas mess hall from Vietnam. If there is any HFT manager reading this, please please please buy a pair of glasses and take action immediately. Why do I keep going back? Believe me, I'd switch to a comparable source in a heartbeat but it's the only place I know of that sells the HVLP sprayers I need at $20 a pop! Just goes to show some of us are gluttons for punishment.
