PUBLIC AND MULTI-TYPE LIBRARY CONSULTANT

Due to a rearrangement in staff assignments, the Wisconsin Valley Library Service (WVLS) is seeking a full-time Public and Multi-type Library Consultant.

This position reports directly to the WVLS Director and is responsible for:
Developing and implementing training strategies and materials to advance library services to patrons.

Developing and implementing a marketing plan to promote WVLS services and programs to member libraries and trustees.

Providing consulting services in the areas of customer service, inclusive service and outreach, grant writing and electronic resources.

Developing, coordinating and providing continuing education and training opportunities for WVLS staff, area library personnel and trustees.

WVLS is a federated public library system located in Wausau, WI, which provides service to 25 public libraries and approximately 200 non-public libraries in its 7-county service area.

Qualified candidates are required to have a Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution or comparable educational experience; a minimum of three years of professional experience in, or consulting with, public libraries; and, a proficient knowledge of current library practices and services. Candidates must also have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to enthusiastically foster and maintain cooperative and courteous working relationships with WVLS staff members and trustees, member library personnel and trustees, and colleagues throughout the state. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and means of transportation are a requirement of employment.

Compensation range for full-time position: Salary negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Attractive benefits package is provided.

Experience with the Sierra application by Innovative Interfaces, Inc. and experience with structured query language (SQL) are preferred. Candidates must also have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to enthusiastically foster and maintain cooperative and courteous working relationships with WVLS staff members and trustees, member library personnel and trustees, and colleagues throughout the state. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and means of transportation are a requirement of employment.
Compensation range for full-time position: $43,804-$60,382. Salary negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Attractive benefits package is provided.

1. Circulation Clerk 10-15 hours a week.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/HEAD OF ADULT SERVICES
