There is much confusion today about gifts, ministries and callings...
• What does the Bible say about them?
• Did they end with the death of the original Apostles?
• If we don't have gifts...why do we still have Pastors and Evangelists?
• Are their "office" gifts in the body?
• Do the gifts have any expression in the body today?
• What about the priesthood of all believers?

The Bible is actually very clear on these points, but the terms associated with them are not generally well known nor even taught.

While not all of these questions are addressed in this message alone, it is on THIS week that we begin to look at their answers from the scriptures.

This week's installment of our Wednesday nights 'Thru the Bible', has us up on the mountain of God with Moses as God interacts with him on a level never seen by man before or after!

God reveals all His goodness to Moses and proclaims His name before him. In today's world the tremendous depth of significance this event holds is lost on us. Tonight, we explore this wondrous event...probing it a little to uncover it's wonder and revel in the heart of God it reveals to us.

On Wednesday nights here at the church, we have been working through the Bible, beginning in the Old Testament.

The first 5 books of the Bible are the books of "first mentions". In them we see characteristics of God, His ways, His thoughts, His purposes which carry through the entire Bible and our lives.

Virtually every time Jesus or Paul were called on to clarify some issue of doctrine they went back to these first 5 books to establish God's intentions and purposes.

This continuing study is proving to be rich in depth and in inviting us deeper into knowing our God and Father by heart.

Here at Living Grace we have been looking at the role of the believer in the church.

Many believe that the true minister of a local body of believers or in fact, the body of Christ at large are it's pastors. It would surprise many Christians to realize that this is simply not what the Bible teaches.

While Pastors have been called and commissioned by Jesus, the head of the church, to aid us in our growth and development into Christ, they are NOT the primary ministers in the local church nor the body of Christ. The real ministers in the body are it's members! We first addressed this in our message on the 21st of January. Here is a link: http://www.grace-life.org/2018/01/maturity-purpose-gifts-pt-2/
