Mostly the experience at the hotel was fine. great location. Jean, a male who works 9-5 or so at the front desk (catastrophic English) 3 times now charged my credit card when I paid cash. 3 different charges? 3 times he said there would be no charges on my card. He simply cannot explain things in English clearly. I paid cash, I get it, while there there is a hold, all fees closed out at this point. Better yet, the email survey I was sent was blocked and wouldn't allow me to fill it out. smart. This hotel cherry picks who fills out their surveys. The staff who cleaned the rooms was great and very attentive 9-4. Everyone says hello, this is great! . Having a billing dispute the customer looses until proven the house is at fault, good luck! The front desk seems chaotic when Jean is there. I am Currently checked out over 24 hours and currently Marriot is holding almost $1000.00 over my room fees (I'm a non smoker, over 50, the room is fine) and to talk to mgmt good luck getting a call back on mainland time, Hawaii time or "Jean time" is whenever. I was told they would be gone an hour or so after check out. When trying to clear up the problem in the hotel at the front desk I was told all charges would be taken off my card, Jean asked for a copy of the card again (stupid me) to make sure they would be taken off, knowing and acknowledged they should have not been there, stupid me gave him the copy and more charges appeared. Awesome!! Thanks Mr. Jean for following through!! So yes here is a negative review that I wouldn't have written if Jean not only knew his job, but actually followed through with his commitment, or if the survey from the hotel came through maybe I would go direct to them. maybe Googke is more irrelevant to the hotel this is ok, perfect surveys are important and I understand this. whatever you do don't get a room anywhere near the elevator, in the am you will hear the dinging non stop until 10:45am. Ocean view Windows worth the up charge!! Best restaurants Huggo's dining room not cafe, Kona Inn not cafe, and by far the best restaurant on the island is Marrimands, 5 star everything. Jean 1 star.

The room Was Ok, Except For The Mosquitos That Somehow Were In It Every Time We Entered. The Location In The Heart Of Kona Was Great And It Was Nice To Have The Beach Right There.

Best hotel in Kailua-Kona. Rooms are nice and clean. Location is unbeatable, walking distance to shops, dining, pharmacy, and grocery stores. Front desk is nice and mobile check-in is incredible.

Nice hotel on the beach and in the center of Kona. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Great views of the mountain and ocean. Nice restaurants on site too. There also shops and car rental in the lobby Only thing I didn't like is they place the towels on a shelf next to and at the same level with the toilet bowl.

I have stayed at this hotel at least once per month for the past year. I always get great service. Shout out to Corey at the front desk!! She is always super friendly and helpful. From my experience the hotel is always clean and many rooms have views of the water. They have a nice pool that has a view of the ocean as well. The hotel is close to many restaurants and shops and I almost always walk to dinner. This is my go to choice each month and will continue to be so.

We stayed here using Marriott Rewards points because it was less than the other Marriott on the Big Island. We figured we were going to be traveling around the island everyday so didn't need a luxury pool or beach. As a family of 5 we had two rooms, but they were not connected. The pool which was recently renovated was the AWESOME! it had many different depths so great for different ages. even had a nice deep end and had look of an infinity pool because there were no edges. There was a nice deck around it with a hot tub & a bar & eating area there. Perfect for relaxing after busy days of hiking & sightseeing. Rooms were in wonderful condition. had a small beach but felt like you were at a dock instead of a relaxing beach. There was a luau adjacent to the hotel that was nice to watch.

No complaints! The room was nice, although events at the beach were a little loud. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Close enough to the highway for access but no road noise. Adequate free Internet. Pool and gym looked nice but I didn't use them.
