Having grown up in company full of musical surroundings, Lori Garrote started creating her own songs at the age of eleven. With The Doors, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and others playing around the house, music was a natural growing hobby for her.
Heavily influenced by Madonna, Michael Jackson, and other icons, she was growing appreciation toward pop culture at an early age.
She started taking an interest into guitar playing when she was introduced to acts such as Alanis Morissette, Green Day, Nirvana, and more from that era. She picked up the guitar at the age of twelve and eventually started to add melodies to her songs.
Lori started testing the performance waters in junior high starting an original band and also volunteering in talent shows at her school. Eventually club and bar owners started asking her for gigs. It was then, Lori Garrote started making her name known in the rock scene in Miami, Florida.
Besides South Florida, Lori has taken her music to New York City , Los Angeles, and New Orleans and will continue to expose her rock/pop sound throughout the country. She has won several local awards such as Best Female Rock vocalist and Best Female Rock Band.
Offered a recording deal with an independent label in Nov 2010, Lori left the label in July 2011 and decided to join forces with her new mentor and manager , John Tovar , the former manager of The Mavericks and Marilyn Manson. With many changes throughout her career, it is not until now, Garrote knows she is where she belongs.
