After eliminating the income tax in Kansas, the Sunflower State now holds a nearly $85 million cumulative advantage in income gains from Missouri, while private sector employment has increased by 4% over the last three years. By instituting pro-growth reform, our neighbor to the West has become an attractive option for business owners and entrepreneurs alike.

This week's Grow Missouri Minute looks at data released late last year by the IRS pertaining to federal individual income tax collections. Shortly thereafter, the Tax Foundation released their annual summary of the findings which indicated the top half of taxpayers paid 97% of all income taxes collected and despite an overall decrease in income, taxes paid increased by $46 billion dollars.

This week, the Grow Missouri Minute looks into proposals for a gas tax increase in order to address transportation funding shortfalls in the Show-Me State. In 2014, Missouri voters rejected a sales tax increase, however, lawmakers continue to look for funding solutions.
