Canon 7D Firmware v.2.0.0 Update is out. Instead of yet another shot of successful update application I'll add a frame rate test.

This firmware 'adds' 8 fps for 24 frames in RAW. That should make this body an even better sports shooter which, until I get a 5DIII, will be what it is best used for.

Movie below is captured at...  Mode: M, 1/250, f2.8, ISO:Auto, One Shot AF. Images were resized in PS to 640px and sequenced with QuickTime Pro 7.

Unfortunately, the canned frame rates don't include 8 fps so the sequence was made at 6 fps. EXIF data for frame 1 and frame 24 confirm frame rate of 8 fps for these 24 frames.

My favorite from a sunrise session at Ocean Beach Pier. An uncharacteristic cloudy morning in otherwise sunny Southern California. Taken at 07:23 on 9/24/2011.

My submission for #LongExposureThursday theme curated by +Le Quoc and +Francesco Gola, the #ThirstyThursday theme curated by +Giuseppe Basile and +Mark Esguerra and the #FineArtPls theme, curated by +Marina Chen and +FineArtPls.

I liked the long exposure thing so much I thought I'd post another image from the Scripps Institute of Oceanography Pier in La Jolla, CA. This could turn into a project! Not sure if I prefer the minimally processed version or the one with bumped contrast and saturation. That one will come in an upcoming post. I'll be interested to compare comments.

Spent a few moments very early in the morning last weekend to capture this image under the Scripps Institute of Oceanography Pier in La Jolla, CA.
