Do you ever feel guilty about your messy workspace? It might not be as big a problem as you may think. In fact, according to a study done by the University of Minnesota, a messy desk may increase creativity and problem-solving rather from making you less productive. Read this article to learn more about why your desk mess is just “creative clutter”: https://sanford.link/2sEXgNr.

Our 1st graders were busy today making Tic-Tac-Toe board games in the Wahl Woodworking Shop. These will be given to the Ronald McDonald house as part of their MLK project to give back to our community.

“I am looking forward to passing along all that I have learned through sports to the youth within the local communities. Basketball has done amazing things for me. I was able to accomplish way more than I ever thought possible thanks to the great support from the family and coaches. I want to give that same support back to the youth in this area.” -Sanford Alum Trevor Cooney '11

Congratulations to Trevor, who played basketball at Syracuse and in the pros, for opening Team 10 Skills Academy, the official basketball development program of the 76ers Fieldhouse. Read about the free clinic he hosted at https://sanford.link/2MpST1v and more about the program at https://sanford.link/2MmjNHH.

"Everyone can be great because everyone can serve.” Today we honor an extraordinary person, Martin Luther King, Jr. To honor his legacy, our school tradition since 2006 has been to have a day of service. Due to inclement weather, we are not able to participate. Please remember to take the time to find an opportunity to serve. Read more about how we serve our community at https://sanford.link/2TYqxOG.

Every student benefits from developing creativity and innovative skills. At Sanford, we challenge students to be creative and innovative through open-ended, hands-on projects. Recently, Ms. Egan's 7th-grade Science students created projects about a cell topic of their choice. Students designed interactive cell models using MakeyMakeys and other projects. Find out how you can help your child develop these critical skills: https://sanford.link/2swOkcI.

It is integral to a child’s development that they have a person in their life in whom they can confide. Having an outlet through which to vent or rave is an excellent way for children to build self-advocacy skills and make them better at articulating their feelings and opinions. At Sanford, our counselors are always able to provide that outlet for students who need it. Learn more about Sanford’s school counseling program: https://sanford.link/2QQs0og.

Attend the free Community Screening of Angst tonight at 6:30 PM. Find out more at https://sanford.link/2QUH1oS.
